It's got nothing to do with anyone being afraid of Chris Paul or Phoenix (talking to you Beverley, and Paul George too if that was really him that said "he's not afraid"). Accepting defeat shows more maturity.......ie Draymond Green after the game 7 in the finals

If Paul George doesn't have to be afraid, but he could have hit the rim instead of the side of the backboard in the game 7 against Denver

That's my main thing regarding all this. Yes Chris Paul played poorly.....but he's 37 years old. He looked like a typical 37 year old professional athlete.

He first called Paul a cone on defense, and he kept saying "Chris Paul on the Suns", but he knows Suns Chris Paul is in his late 30's, so if you have to specify that, I don't know. Then Steven A says, compared to everyone in the league? Then he says, well, no, I'm not going to compare Paul to regular guys, I'm comparing to top 5, top 10 point guards of all time. Well, that stipulation wasn't set before, but are you comparing to those guys at 36/37 or comparing 37 year old Paul's ability to defend to those guys in their primes which doesn't make sense.

Which ones at 36/37 are defending better? What age is Nash defending better for example? At any age, how many of them can check Luka? You think Isiah could guard Luka at any age, let alone 36 or 37 when he was 4 years post retirement. 31-32 year old Isiah was a 16/3/8 player on 49% TS, so can you imagine what he would have been if he didn't tear his achilles and kept playing 4 seasons later and then you ask him to start, play a big offensive role and defend, how good would his defense be? Then he says, "what would Stockton do", but Stockton at 36/37 was not able to defend at the same level or produce at the same level and had a far lesser offensive role. Does Bev think Luka and Brunson wouldn't cook 37 year old Stockton in the current NBA?

CP was running circles around 34 year old Kidd in Dallas because even Kidd an all-time great defender in an offensive role player role could not defend every matchup well anymore, and that's like a guy that we can call the GOAT PG defender. So what exactly is the conclusion of Bev's statements when he added all these clarifications (on the Suns) and stipulations (compared to top 10 PG's)?

Pat Bev focuses in on the defense because that's his bread and butter and he obviously knows defense pretty well but it's also clear that 37yo CP3's defense isn't all-defense CP3 anymore. It's a fact that he is clinging onto as his key point. Nobody can or is arguing a 37yo CP3 can't defend like he used to but 98% of PG's would also get cooked by Luka at *any* age. Pat Bev is just being disingenuous
