But at the same time - those circumstances were nobody's fault (nothing the players could have done), and there was nothing anybody could have done to eliminate the weirdness of that season. Asterisks usually function to make something less important or significant. An asterisk seems harsh.

I feel more comfortable bashing the '17 & '18 Warriors because Durant could have easily refrained from taking the easy route


Why is Durant's route deemed easy? Why should he refrain from taking the route he did? Was there any attempt to subvert the rules? In comparison for example why is Anthony Davis's move to join the Lakers not being brought up as much or even more?

The 2020 Bucks were historically dominant. The Covid break combined with Blake shooting in Wisconsin and the bubble totally derailed what was an unbelievable season. Every other team that made a run that year - Lakers, Heat, Celtics etc. were frauds.
