OT: Champions League Final, Liverpool vs Real Madrid 3PM EST

Post#1 » by Mauro Pedrosa » Sat May 28, 2022 9:51 am

The pinnacle of club futbol and this year we have two teams that play balls to the wall, so it should be a nice opportunity for new fans to get into the game.

Both teams aren’t at the very top of their game, with some stars having aged or departed (Cristiano Ronaldo) but that just brings even more intrigue to it.

If Real Madrid wins, they’re likely to have an Amazon or Netflix series about the unbelievable run, packed with miraculous comebacks.

In terms of favoritism, I’d give it 52% in favor of Liverpool

Slight edge to Liverpool.
Kids played football, drove cars, went to school, celebrated life; while soldiers, heroes, their brothers struggled to find their way home from war; and young boys watched and grew wiser in their dreams.

Liverpool should win this, but there's no trusting Real Madrid in CL, they own this tournament.

Let's go Madrid. I'm not a fan of theirs, but I HATE Liverpool with passion.

I have a soft spot for Ancelotti (it would be his 4th champions league ring, which is a record for a coach)
At the same time I dislike Perez and Real Madrid and Klopp is a nice guy.

Let's hope Salah doesn't get injured this time (no Ramos but Casemiro is a good son too)

I love Ancelotti. Just seems like a class act, and that Real team that won the Champions League with the late Sergio Ramos equalizer played some of the best football I’ve ever seen

Honestly beating Espanyol is a bigger effort than Liverpool. Just kidding, but it should be pretty easy just the same.

2-1 to Real Madrid. They don't lose UCL Finals.

Strong preference for Liverpool, but pretty sure Madrid will pull off some black magic again and win the cup :noway:

Casemiro somehow not getting booked despite his persistent fouling is also a guarantee.

I'm a big Madrid fan, so I'm pulling for them hard. I don't have anything against Liverpool though. If someone besides Madrid wins, I'd prefer them to any of the teams Madrid faced in the knockouts.

Madrid has been good against big teams this year when it mattered , so that gives me hope, though Casemiro and Kroos have been below their previous standards this year when faced with energetic presses, so that will be interesting. Valverde starting on right wing helps with that as he's a driving midfielder really and will run hard. In the second half, I would expect to see Rodrigo and Camavinga for Kroos/Casemiro, especially if Madrid is chasing the game. Fede drops into the midfield and Rodrygo plays more of a forward than Fede does. Fede and Camavinga both run and track back, but neither are really d mids, so the midfield becomes more dynamic, but more open. Overall, Madrid has been very much a second half team, even against pedestrian opponents in La Liga.
