What will it take for you to take Curry over LeBron all-time?

Is there anything Curry can do in the last few years of his career to get you to change your mind? Or maybe some already have Steph ahead.
Personally it'll take a number more top 5 seasons for me. I'm not sure how many.

Probably 3 FMVPs and 2 more MVPs would be a good start.

The accolades between Curry and LeBron is about as large as the Grand Canyon.

Was telling another poster the other day that we were going to have 20-ish Curry ranking threads in the coming 2 weeks. They didn't believe me. Looks like we are on track.
- if GS lose to BOS does Curry drop in all time ranking
- if GS beat BOS and Curry gets FMVP does it make him top 10
- if GS beat BOS and Curry doesn't get FMVP whats the impact on his all time ranking
- if Curry beat BOS with Wiggins does it drop KD in all time ranking
- what does Curry need to do to surpass Shaq
- what does Curry need to do to surpass Larry
- what does Curry need to do to surpass Magic
- what does Curry need to do to surpass Lebron
We are just so obsessed with rankings. Plenty to talk about but at least start with someone like Shaq, then gradually move up?

Impossible. Lebron is only three years older than Steph, but has scored 17,000 more points in the regular season. The gap is way too big.

2 more MVP level seasons gets him in the "ring of honor" discussion while 3 really put him in the LeBron tier for me. Possible but unlikely. Lets see what happens!

Useless trivia of the day: LeBron has almost double the career points of Curry, despite being only 4 years apart of each other (37k vs 20k).
Yep, the gap is too large.

Unfair to both players as these always are. How about just appreciate the greatness of both of them without one having to be "better". Does an internet opinion make your players career more or less enjoyable?

Steph was briefly better than Lebron for a few months in midseason of the 2015-16 season. That was not long enough and not in the playoffs.

Two questions:
• Is MVP level = top 5? Would 2021-22 count?
• What about Duncan level (assuming he's slightly lower than LeBron)? I feel like Curry/LeBron/Duncan have been the best three players post-Jordan (LeBron best among them) and feel at their bests they were of comparable impact.

The gap from Kareem (6 rings, 6 MVPs) to LeBron (4 rings, 4 MPVs) is much bigger than the gap from LeBron to Curry (3 rings, 2 MVPs).

Sure. I wouldn't bet on it, but I can tell you roughly what it would end up looking like.
Basically, GS would need to continue on continuing to win chips and be top tier contenders for a good while yet. I don't want to give any specific number because the reality is I won't be waiting for some rigid numerical threshold to be reached, but suffice to say Curry won't get the edge simply because he ends up with more rings than LeBron.

Well, being better than Lebron means basically being #2 on All-time list. 3 more rings with Curry dominating both regular seasons and PO would be a starter. I don't think that will happen though.

Steph Curry’s great, he’s just simply not top 2 player ever great.

Lebron had a higher and longer peak. There is nothing Steph can do to overtake him. This was never a discussion.
Steph is a top-10 player all-time. Lebron is a top-2 player.

Most people have Curry around 15-20, and LeBron in 1-4. A better question would be what it would take to get Curry into the top 9-12. So names like Hakeem, Kobe, Oscar Robertson, or KD. Although in the spur of the moment most people would tend to say so in terms of KD.

Nothing, they're not even in the same conversation, LBJ is far superior. Steph has had a top 15 career all-time thus far, not too shabby.
