Do you have Stephen Curry over Kevin Durant in the all time list?

As the title says. Do you have Steph over KD?
KD 1x MVP, 2x FMVP
Steph 2x MVP 0 FMVP
To be honest I'm kinda torn between these two. You got Steph the greatest shooter ever (changed the game) vs a Seven footer sharpshooter who moves like a guard and can score at will. But I'm curious what the majority thinks about these two.
Personally, I'm a fan of both player's skills but I'm leaning towards the smaller one that conquered the land of the giants by changing the game.

I’d be shocked if Curry doesn’t win this poll decisively.

Yeah. I find it weird that KD could be over Steph.

KD is a better player, but Steph should be higher on GOAT lists.
Durant's FMVP just don't have much value.

KDs scoring titles and carrying OKC to almost victorys over Steph (rescued by game 6 Klay) get a bit of a nod, but I have Steph. Would have been interesting to see the results, had OKC drafted Klay and Steph had a Westbrook to deal with.
Steph is the superior team leader, which elevates him, but they are close. Frankly as Dray says a need to rank guys is old media. Both are great and approaching GOAT at their respective peaks as offensive talents. KD may be the GOAT iso offensive threat and Curry the GOAT off ball offensive threat, with both also great in the swapped roles.

I think people are letting their dislike of Durant cloud their decision here. Durant is easily one of the best basketball players I’ve ever seen play. His all around game is staggeringly good.
I love Curry too and he might be the best shooter ever to play this game but he clearly can’t do all the things Durant can do on the court.

KD sure is lower than Curry in my all time list. The moment he took the easy route to win those 2 almost meaningless rings, he completely disqualified from my perspective. Imho everyone ranking him top-15 all time has blatant recency bias. I don't see why he would be ranked higher than Dr.J or Jerry West, for example...

KD is supremely talented, maybe top-5 all time in that regard, but he lacks intangibles that are key to a superstar, he's not a true leader, and this is a HUGE FLAW.

Warriors were also rescured by KD going 10-31 that game.

Yes.
Best player on a championship team.

In a 7 game series, I’d take Durant over Curry every day of the week and twice on Sundays.
But on the all time list, which included other criteria, this is Curry all day.

Curry had 31/10/9 (3 TO) on a 60% TS in "game 6 Klay" btw. Also known as "thanks for showing up to the series Klay" (averaging 22/4/2 on 41/30/89 to that point). KD had 29/7/3 on a 41% TS. Curry had 36/5/8 on a 71% TS in the game 7 closeout to put them to bed. Curry was - by far - the best player on either team in the series. I feel like that point needs driving home for some as it comes up here and there in these Curry/KD conversations. Bear in mind this was only the latest choke job by KD. That "Mr Unreliable" headline from the Daily Oklahoman was printed after their 2014 playoffs. It was a moniker he didn't shake until joining Curry and the Warriors.
As for this ranking, I already had Curry slightly ahead before this season, but Curry has clearly put his distance between the two in leading the Dubs back to the Finals. He's at the point where if you have him below top-15, you probably have something against him or the Warriors. Hell Nick Wright is doing a podcast right now where he's doing his top 50 All Time, and is at #16 currently without Curry off the board yet. As a public basketball entity who openly hates on the Warriors (as they put a wet cloth on what he expected to be 7-8 titles for Lebron), that's probably telling.

Almost victories aka major choke jobs. Outside of CP3 I can't remember an ATG playing that badly down the stretch of an elimination game.

Better 1 on 1 player, sure. 5 of 5 though give me Steph all day.

This isn’t about who’s the better player. It’s a career or accolades and achievements you look at. Stuff like leadership is a huge plus for Curry and a huge negative for Durant.

I conceed your points.
But defense and strategy also matters. Klay 'showed up' in the sense that spent a lot of energy on two key warriors strategic necessities. Running around on offense to exhaust opponent stars by making them play nonstop tiring defense, and using length and switching to keep a defender in the path of driving to the paint.
I see KDs performance as more of an effect from a cause, than a 'choke'. I think he just wore down, which is known to reduce shooter efficiency. That year my wife and I observed a clear intention in Kurr's strategy on offense and defense, one which was founded in energy and tired legs leading to a less efficient offensive performance. I think this played out over the series. While Steph works hard at defense and improves each year, play by the warriors defensive leaders, a predictable OKC offense based on hero ball, and the strategy were very important to the sub par offense numbers. Choke is over used IMHO. In the video I see durant taking tough contested shots, I see him with Iguadala in his face, playing great defense, and then Klay doubling on his side, forcing a tough decision pass, etc.

If you take the time to dig into their impact data, really break down their games, etc etc. The gap between their peaks is massive. Curry is simply a far better overall player in what ultimately matters, helping his team win games. KD is a great player, Curry's peak has real considerations for top 10 peaks ever. And now he's added enough longevity to start to remove that concern for those of us who aren't more extreme in our view on longevity in these types of rankings. Obviously, if you favor longevity heavily, you could still take KD here.

Dray says that ranking is old media as a cop out. Old media didn’t creating rankings...humans been calling people chiefs and kings since time immemorial. And then we doubled down and started calling people chiefs of chiefs and kings of kings to rank them ever more.
Steph is better because somehow steph is a much better team mate and plays winning ball within a winning system.
I see Steph and KD more like Timmy and KG...who knows who is better individually but by virtue of Curry playing for Jackson and Kerr throughout his career, he has been a key contributor on more high winning teams

Remove 2017-2019... Curry is an all-time great. KD is a bonafide scorer that always couldn't get it done in the playoffs.
And we'll always remember how KD choked against Curry and GSW

Except that KD had Kerr and could have still had Kerr yet decided that he wants to play ISO ball. There is no comparison here between KG and KD. KD has played with supreme talent his entire career. it's no one's fault but his own that he couldn't keep it together and that he has proven himself to be difficult to coach.
The moment that KG was surrounded with anyone even remotely near his level, he went to 2 finals in 3 years and helped win one of those. KG is one of the ultimate team players and sacrificed during his time in Boston for the sake of the team.
