Interesting. Charlotte, Toronto, Detroit seem like good fits.

I think we see Ayton for Gobert + 2x first

Jazz retool and get younger, can keep Mitchell happy
Suns go all in for short term title + get assets to retool once Paul retires

I mean this can't be shocking, right? There were clearly issues there at the end and after they went down in flames in that G7 it felt like a clear separation.

I would absolutely not want him for max or anywhere near max money, personally.

The Mavs could be a landing spot. They were looking for Gobert but I think Ayton's capabilities might compliment Dallas' offense more.

He's restricted, so the Suns at least have that on their side, but I'm guessing he wants more money and years than they are willing to offer.

Well, they better hope they can get adequate return unless things will get a bit difficult for them. C is one of the positions in the NBA you can skimp on, but if you do so, you better be really strong at the wing position or have a super versatile 4. The Suns are good, but not strong enough on the wings to just tank C and don't have a 4 man that can cover.

Whatever Phoenix gets back will likely be inferior and they only save on cap space but if that's really important to Sarver and the Suns I guess it makes sense.

I still don't see him walking or being traded this summer but with Sarver at the helm anything is possible.

I hope for the Sun's sake this means a sign and trade and not letting him walk in free agency

That would be quite the disaster from a team management perspective, lol. Better off just matching whatever offer and trading during the season if that is the case.

Let's not rule out him joining the E-gaming arena since apparently the dude stays up all night playing video games even during the playoffs. Won't be missing the thought of "Where is Deandre" for 30-40 games a year.

The Kings will give you one Richaun Holmes for him. Seriously though, if we didn't just acquire Sabonis, I'd be only over him. Don't think Sabonis would be too thrilled with playing out of position again, so I doubt the Kings will look at him too much.

That title window was short.

He’s a FA why would he agree go to Utah? Nobody wants to play there if they have a choice.

In my opinion they can't afford to let him walk for nothing. Specially if you look at the 2018 draft. Would almost look as bad as the Kings with Bagley. :-?

I thought this was pretty obvious after the playoffs. I think this is just letting the other teams know that the both sides are ready to move on so that the Suns can try to get a sign and trade deal done for him.

If they match an offer, they can't trade him to that same team for one year, or, for one year, to any team without his consent.

When 37 year old Chris Paul is one of the most important players on the team it was always going to be a short window.
