Gobert is a Hall of Famer in his prime. And Utah's defense has been top-10 seven times in the last 8 seasons.
Not to mention that Rudy Gobert will dominate every Center in the East not named Joel Embiid.
An elite offensive engine paired with a dominant defensive anchor gives Atlanta a measure of balance that team hasn't had since Budenholzer left.
Their fit isn't in question....it's the cost to acquire him and that contract that should concern Hawks fans.
Centers have not been an issue for the Hawks advancing during the playoffs for the most part. Embiid goes off, Dwight goes off all in their primes, and the Hawks still advance.
In the previous season, the East centers all had really good games against Utah. Capela, Bam, WCJ, Myles Turner, Horford, Jarrett Allen, Gafford, Claxton all had good games with Gobert playing. Vucevic is the lone one that actually struggled from the field.
He won't help stop the guys like Tatum, Butler, KD, etc. He surely won't help with the elite guards in the conference.
