He was a consensus All-American at Purdue. One of the best players in college basketball. They’ve already retired his Jersey.

Was drafted by Portland in the First Round. I know he had some issues of the court though. May he Rest In Peace.

Wow. 25…Always a damn shame when anyone passes that young. Can’t imagine what his family and friends and former teammates are going through today.

sucks he couldnt or wouldnt get the help he needed.... When I see a basketball player, even a guy who hoops at LA fitness put on weight like that, its important to consider theyre going through something signifigant emotionally or mentally. RIP

Cause of death is unknown at this point. But he’d put on a ton of weight and ballooned to over 400 lbs over the past year, and was having some mental health issues. Got into some legal trouble recently as well. Dame took to social media to defend him just last month. Very sad.

Sad. He struggled with weight in college, worked super hard to get in shape and had a great season at Purdue. Got drafted, game didnt translate, seemed to spiral and ended up with legal issues, weight issues and mental health issues.

Sad storyline - by all accounts he was a nice man. Life can be rough.

Sad. Very sad. I remember how he ballooned to 400+ lbs within a year or so... have to wonder what was going on. As a man who has suffered from disordered eating before and having gone from 170-260 in the past, it is also a wake-up call for me to cherish every moment I have.

It's crazy to hear when you consider his dad was 500lbs and was able to stick around until 50.

He had some legit offensive talent coming into the NBA. Put in a ton of work to cut down the weight to finally make it into the league. He seems like someone who really could've benefited from having a good support system.

Very sad. Had high hopes for him out of college just to make it as a rotation player in the league. Seemed like a good guy too. RIP Caleb.

Yeah he got huge, hopefully he didn't start doing drugs all depressed at that body weight.

Incredible fall from grace. Have to think he died of a heart attack from all that weight.

Pretty damn sad. "Natural causes", I wonder if his heart just gave out or? It's sad his dad died like 7 or 8 years ago from Diabetes related issues.

Having family members that deal with depression and mental health hearing someone has went to a dark place is sad. May he rest in peace.
