We Need To Discuss The State Of The Phoenix Suns

I'm not trying to open up a can of worms here, but this whole idea that their owner won't spend to keep the core together is insanity to me. How long before Booker wants out? Chris Paul does not have much tread left on his tires... They are about to lose Ayton & also reading this tweet which Mikal Bridges responded to with "me too."
Kellan Olson@KellanOlson
If Cam Johnson gets dealt for tax relief I’m dropping off the grid and moving to a small fishing village in Estonia11:48 AM · Jun 21, 2022

Well currently it’s Arizona, unless you know something that I don’t.
What would you like to know about Arizona other than Tombstone is overrated?

It starts at the top. If owners don’t do whatever it takes to win they shouldn’t buy pro teams. The franchise value grew every year the Suns we’re winning 20 games a year. Sarver runs like his business a banker which is literally where made his fortune.

I think the key question here is, does Estonia want Kellan Olson?

Sounds like he's making up imaginary scenarios like Chicken Little and riling himself up with them... no?

I think we’re going to hear more about the workplace issues soon and hopefully big penalties to Sarver. Hopefully he’s forced out, and the team can rebuild.

Well Booker isn't the reason they're winning so not a big loss. Losing Ayton and/or Bridges would be a traveshamockery of franchise-running, though.

Crappy owners can destroy franchises. The Clippers were a joke franchise that players hated playing for despite being in Los Angeles. Dolan has kept the Knicks in the toilet for decades despite the franchise having massive advantages.
Phoenix isn't Utah but it ain't Los Angeles either. His run already includes the worst stretch of Phoenix Suns basketball, 10 straight missed playoffs. His cheapness cost the Suns a potential dynasty in the aughts. It may end up dismantling the Suns current strong team. If I was a Suns fan, I'd be very worried.

He sold the draft rights of Luol Deng, Rajon Rondo, and Rudy Fernandez for cash. He could have added those players to the Suns team that had Nash, Amare, and Marion.

Rondo would have been garbage for them (except as a tradeable asset, I suppose), but the idea of Luol Deng on that team is frustrating. He could have added such value to them, for sure. And Rudy Fernandez was nothing, so I don't know that he would have been any kind of valuable.

First they have to accept their huge L wasn't a fluke of any kind. Their success was largely tied to an aging cp3 who did what he does in clutch moments. Not a horrible time to pull the plug IMO they can get assets for their guys right now.

If the Suns want to win rather than cut costs then get a better back up point guard.

What? They would be idiots to tear down a team that was just in the 2nd round a year after the finals trip.

They realistically had like 2-3 year championship window. They're right on course IMO, because I never saw it as much more than that.

being cheap is a problem even if you question the value of the names listed.

Trading an established 3 and D switchable wing on his rookie contract to save money might be the dumbest effing thing i've ever heard. That be can't true.
But Sarver...

That core shouldn't be kept together in my opinion because they regressed from the previous year. And it was a significant drop off.
They're heading in the wrong direction, in other words.
A sharp owner either in business or in sports will want to adapt immediately and not waste years to wait for further proof that they're heading in the wrong direction.
