Jalen Brunson was a legitimate sidekick to Luka.

So Mavericks will not be fighting for an 8th seed.

At least give some effort and write which player they added.

Wood
THJ is back after missing half of the season
McGee
Dont expect much from Hardy

Depends if Luka decides to show up in shape...

Suns, Warriors, Nuggets, Clippers, Grizzlies, Wolves should probably be better unless the Clippers don't care at all about the RS.

Pels and Blazers are next in line, but I'll go with the Mavs considering Dame is older and Zion has to show he can stay on the floor.

7th would be a good guess. But who knows? Maybe Brunson wasn't that important to them and they'll be fine with a big lineup. I wouldn't be surprised to see them take a higher seed.

7 or 8 in west, I don't see them having more wins than
LAC
DEN
GSW
NOP
MIN
Then you have
MEM
PHX
Who will likely be better.

Probably 6, but maybe higher if they make another move before the season or at the deadline.

They need another guard BAD. Luka has never played more than 66 games in a season, so if/when he misses some time, the Mavs are in big trouble

Around the 6 or 7th seed. However I could the win around 50 games or so while having a low playoff seeding. The West look brutal this season. This is why they need to trade for Kyrie Irving and add Seth Curry to sweeten the deal for them. It's risky, but their ceiling would be rised quite a bit if they get Kyrie Irving/Seth Curry. Won't even require giving up that much in return.

If Wood & Dinwiddie perform well and Luka stays healthy they'll be 6th or ther IMO

Still a nice supporting cast, not particularly thin or anything:
Ball-handlers: Luka, Dinwiddie
Wings: THJ, DFS, Bullock, J Green
Bigs: Wood, Kleber, Powell, Javale, Bertans

Brunson hurts but it's not like the bottom falls out during the RS. Can still be the Luka show and the cast should be good for that.

They'll be good, but this will be one of the first lost seasons for Luka where he's expected to be in championship conversation but he simply fails.

How are Mavs expected to be in champ convo with this roster? Luka overachieved in 2021-22 season, WCF with this team was great success. I think Mavs will be 6th seed then first round exit.

WCF appearance means raised expectations for a superstar. Luka can't go backwards just because the Mavs let a guy walk away in free agency that hasn't been a core starter for many years.

I think the Mavs are in real trouble. I hope not because I enjoy watching Luka play. I think they could miss the playoffs if things fall wrong for them.

The Clips, Warriors, Suns, and Grizz are obviously better, Denver is going to be a lot better with their top 3 guys actually playing. Lakers have Lebron until they don't. Pels and Portland are probably around the same tier. Kangz are the wild card who knows with them. Utah is out so thats one extra slot in the playoffs. I see the Mavs in the 7-10 slot and a coin flip of winning into the playoffs.

If Luka gets better, they'll be just as good as they were last year...Might even be better, but probably won't make it as far.

Probably a middle-lower of the pack playoff team (5-7th maybe). They're solid for sure and Wood if he steps up should add a punch I think in the frontcourt.

Also if the Nuggets are fully healthy they take a step up and obviously if Kawhi is back and healthy they leapfrog the Mav's. If we finally get this trade for Kyrie in and we can remain healthy (a lot of if's I know), then we are also ahead of the Mavericks also.

He played 72 games as a rookie, but yes, since then he has not

This is one thing that I've seen people struggle with, the reality that a team can get better but not go as far, but it is certainly a possibility for Dallas.
