OT help needed baseball or nfl?
Hi community, I watch a lot of basketball, volleyball, football, And tennis.
I would like to add one more to watch one of these sports for next season as i have only watched sporadically each of them.
One note i don't like about the football is that the QB controls the whole offence
Thank you for reading.

Baseball is better in person, football on TV.
I assume when you say you watch a lot of football you’re referring to to the non American version. In my experience fans of footballer/soccer can’t stand the pace of American football.

The pace is not an issue, I dislike that the qb controls the offence.

NFL >>>> Baseball. NFL Season is also only 5 months long...it's easier to follow and regular season games also have high stakes in NFL. Baseball regular season has 162 games lol. I mainly watch NBA, NFL, Tennis and I feel like that's enough number of sports to follow these days.

Re: OT help needed baseball or nfl?
I tried to make myself like baseball a while back but I was watching a game and fell asleep for like 2 hours and when I woke up the score was the same and absolutely nothing had happened. So it's just not very exciting is what I'm trying to say.

Just looking at the sports you listed, coming from a euro who follows all of those to some extent, I think NFL is still your best bet, in spite of the central role of the qb. But by all means give either a try for a more focused, extended period of time and figure out if it's something you can get into.

Go watch real football. Watch the Premier League and find a team to root for very easy. It's a great league to watch and the games are fun. My favorite PL team to watch is Brighton. They play fantastic football for a middle of the pack team.

Basketball is and has always been my #1 sport to watch, it's great in person and on TV. I love playing and coaching basketball the most as well. NFL was my #2 and I used to be a season ticket holder but is dead to me now. Volleyball is pretty exciting to watch on TV and in person. I like the Women's tennis game more than the mens. Baseball is best in person or on the radio IMO, put it on and work on the car, around the house or on the yard.

You're not going to escape the QB controlling the offense, so if that's an issue, the NFL (or any level of US football) just isn't the sport for you. I guess it would be like someone wanting to watch the NBA as long as they aren't seeing a bunch of 3s being chucked. It's just not happening anymore. However, there are teams that are more run heavy (the Titans and Colts come to mind), so they are less QB centric.

It is kind of assumed when he says he watches a lot of football that is is watching, uh, "real" football (whatever that means).

Re: OT help needed baseball or nfl?
Growing up, baseball was everything. I played it at a high level, I watched it non-stop, I knew pretty much every player on every team, etc.... Basically I couldn't get enough of it.
Now....I find it just way too boring to watch. I'll try to watch a game on occassion, but I just can't make it through more than a couple of innings. I still appreciate it, and can still picture myself out there playing, but to watch it - I just can't do it anymore.
American Football is a lot of high speed action (in spurts), with bigger-than-life players (I can see myself as a baselball player, but I have trouble relating to American Football team full of huge guys that can bench press a truck). However, there is a lot of stop-and-go action, and a lot of down time between the plays (than add the time outs, end of quarters, etc... and the amount of actual action isn't really all that much - but what there is of it is usually pretty high end).
If I had to put it in other terms - baseball is more like a TV documentary where you can appreciate the subject being discussed, but you have to sit through a lot of boring scenes before coming to the end. Football is more like an over-the-top action movie where you can just turn off your mind for a couple of hours and appreciate the action taking place on the screen. It's not to say that Football isn't complicated (it probably has more rules and complicated plays than every other sport combined, and the players need to know giant tomes full of information to play it well), but for the fan watcing, you can just sit back and enjoy the violence (with lots of chances to run to the bathroom without fear of missing anything).

Now, that is something to keep in mind. Few things are more pleasant on a warm summer day than listening to a baseball game while engaging in some other activity - highly recommended!!!!
