Will it point out that fans could see the rigged games but fellow officials and NBA reviews never concluded that Donaghy was rigging games?? That's because the other refs and commissioner were in on it too. You'd have to be blind to have missed the Blazers/Lakers, Kings/Lakers and Mavs/Heat fixing.

this is gonna be a must watch for me
expose everything, especially when he mentioned on a podcast( cant remmeber which one) how abc and tnt are experts in panning the camera to the crowd at fans to distract the viewers from a bad call that they just made in real time to avoid showing the replay. He mentioned that the league struggled with this tactic in the nba bubble because their were no fans hahaha

After the 2002 Kings/Lakers series I was very very close to never watching the NBA again.
20 years later...well, maybe I should have.

The refs, maybe, but I don't think Stern was in on it. I think he probably knew they were doing it, but he couldn't really accuse them because it was worse for the image of the league to have that made public. I do think that if the Lakers were on the other end of it then things would've been different. A couple of small market fanbases didn't have much of a voice in the no social-media era. If the Lakers had gotten screwed then every celebrity and news channel would be talking about it and Stern would have no choice.

There was a poster on here who exposed the fraud. Apparently many of the refs from the 90s/2000s were from a small town in the northeast or something. Mafia related especially with the betting. Silver knows, I can tell you that

2003 Game 3 Lakers-Wolves was a brutally blatant rig job. Anthony Peeler and Troy Hudson had other plans though!
The worst play I remember was a Maker player driving a layup, Sally szerbiak jumps AWAY from him with both hands up, and still gets whistled for a foul. That play and several others Tom Tolbert on commentary was screaming "that was not a foul"

Lakers were screwed over in that series, should've never gone 7.

Donaghy's story is really interesting, but it's not nearly that compelling without other people to turn on the NBA/officials to corroborate his story. For the alleged conspiracy, you have to think there would be other whistleblowers if it was as far reaching as he claims. I have a hard time believing that of all those others allegedly engaged in this scheme, no one else would come forward.

Before the Lakers-Kings series gets brought up again... really feels like this video needs to be posted!

What REALLY Happened In Game 6 Lakers vs Kings 2002 WCF Finals? Watch along as Ronnie Nunn explains.

I will watch this doc, but to my understanding his contention was that he simply knew the refs innate biases and/or tendencies, and would bet the lines (or have his team bet) accordingly. Ref tendencies are one of the most widely used tools in professional sports betting, and it's the biggest reason why Haralabob is worth 9 figures (his algorithm was heavily influenced by the refs). I'm not sure it was as nefarious as it seems from the NBA as a whole (especially now), but I do imagine there were some rogue officials on the take (including Donaghy of course).

Even if this bozo made sure the lakers won in game 6… the lakers won fair and square in game 7

I have little doubt that the NBA massages things to gently (or in some cases more outrightly) guide things in their preferred direction. But outright fixing is a step too far.
