A match made in heaven?

Edit: OP, please include the report when you're telling us about a report. Here is the report:

But this is less about the trade and more about the fact that Green could legitimately choose to leave Golden State for Detroit. While it’s weird to think about Green playing anywhere other than with the Warriors, he’s always wanted to play for Detroit, according to sources.

According to the source that spoke with Deveney, Green has always wanted to play for the Pistons at some point. Being from Saginaw, Michigan, Green grew up rooting for the Pistons. Ben Wallace was his idol, and as is the case with any basketball player, getting the chance to play for his hometown team would likely be a dream come true.

“Draymond has always wanted to go there, he has always wanted to play for the Pistons. And they’ll have the cap space. It’s hard to see Draymond playing anywhere else outside Golden State but if it going to happen anywhere, Detroit would be a good bet,” the executive told Deveney. -via Heavy.com / August 12, 2022

He would fit in well in Detroit. He’s the type of player who can thrive with that franchise.

You guys being sarcastic? Draymond on a rebuilding squad that's years away feels like a nightmare

I see "REPORT" in the thread title only to open the thread and see no actual report. A link would be nice.

As a Pistons fan, I'd have interest in Green coming to Detroit but for a lot less than the max money he desires.

Seems like the OP really stretched this one. It was an article citing some random EC exec who said Detroit could be a good fit.

Dumb clickbait thread with no substance

I'm surprised a guy like Draymond Green wants to go to Detroit.

Isn't he from Michigan? I know he went to MSU.

When it came out he was demanding a max extension I thought he must know something we don't. Maybe this was it. It only takes one team.

The Warriors can’t pay everybody. This is the eventuality the big 3 will break up and come back for vet mins when they are old is a real possibility.

No thread called “report” should be without a link.

I don’t think that’s a rule but it should be.

Last time we saw Draymond playing on a team that wasn't a loaded up contender, he looked like he didn't even want to be out there(but at least he didn't milk an injury I guess).

I don't think Draymond is the guy that is going to come in and play 110% and rally the troops on a rebuilding team. If he bought all in, he's the guy you want doing it though, especially given that franchise's history and identity, and his ties to the state.

every player wants to play for their hometown team at some point.
it's like their dream come true

until it goes south like with Westbrook and D Wade or even Melo

It would be a smart move to sign him, even if it's 2-3 years and he's a corpse.
He's a very popular player, would bring a lot of attention to a DET team that always needs it.
FA don't go there.

They have a nice core now, he would be a savvy vet add

His pedigree/experience/attitude would be immense for a young squad

Bullspit

When does that ever work out?

If you want a mentor, hire an assistant coach. Don't spend a large amount of cap on a guy that's not gonna help you on the floor when it's time.

Draymond would just get fat in Detroit and be focused on his media career.
