Do Lakers keep him all year?

If they trade him does he play for that team or get bought out. Most rumors say teams are only interested in trading for him to recieve the draft picks and will buy him out.

If bought out what team will he go to.

Will a contender take a chance on him. Or is his only option a team that needs an attraction to sell tickets.

I think he ends season with OKC or Was after being bought out.

I think it really depends on how things are going for the Lakers. I think they realize that it might be too much of a cost to their future to trade away Westbrook for another piece. In that case, why not see how things are working out with the new coach?

You basically have three scenarios.

A: The Lakers actually win with Westbrook. Unlikely by possible.
B: The Lakers are competitive with Westbrook still a net negative.
C: The Lakers are as bad as last year and there's no point to a win now move.

The only scenario in which trading Westbrook makes sense is B, otherwise you might as well hang onto him unless a really amazing deal somehow presents itself. I don't see a good fit at the moment...

Just to clarify I don't think Westbrook has no place in the NBA.
But if rumors are to be believed he might hit the open market after a buyout.
Russel might have multiple option. But from what I see he won't want a backup role and wants to get back to being the trip dub king.

What teams would he want to go to that would also want him.

Lakers, Nets or Pacers.

It's regardless highly questionable Lakers are able to win anything with LeBron. They have missed the playoffs twice and been first round exit once. They have nothing but failures in normal conditions with LeBron.

It’s not just the money. It’s the attitude as well. Westbrick continues to see himself as a superstar—which he’s not anymore. Moreover, he refuses to master skills (e.g. consistent 3- point shooting) which would help him better transition to the twilight of his career.

Yep. To pretend guy who is capable of putting up 18/8/10 with ease as your third option with vet minimum wouldn't be valuable is delusional.

Westbrook puts all his energy into defense and finishes on the all defensive teams now focused on getting half a triple double with steals and blocks…

Westbrook becomes the star he wants to be, KD becomes the beta he wants to be, Nets get their youngins, Lakers get the Gasol trade again for basketball reasons. NBA and the media make money off of this entire scenario. It’s a no brainer.

i know this was a joke but i wouldn't be surprised at all if this was westbrook's last season in the nba. if he's not willing to take a bench role and a massive paycut after his current contract then i can't see a single team obliging him.

The Wizards bringing him back seems like the most realistic option for Westbrook when he gets bought out.

I don’t think he’s burned that bridge yet and actually played fairly well for them.
