I always thought he was prob one of the most down to earth coolest dudes in the league.
He would make sure players didnt get injured on plays and help them up.
Do you think he ever deserved it or do you think the list is fine?

He does not need a sportsmanship award to show that he is a class act

Nah, he needs to maintain his reputation as the virtuous enforcer of all that is good. It will be harder for him to use brute strength to excise players from dust-ups if he is thought to be too nice.

Didn't Zach Randolph punch him after a dirty play?

My favorite is when the team is running out the clock he comes and takes the ball so he will get credited with the turnover instead of the guard.

His story is awesome. Coming from a huge family, facing older brothers on the court, fighting people (I think?).
Dude just seems very self aware and aware of the consequence of the situation.

Zach wasnt known for well thought out, rational decision making.

Big Kiwi is the man. I really wish he still played for OKC. Nothing knocks him off his composure. Great teammate. And I get another excuse to post this clip:

Who votes on these? Other players? Hes famous for setting screens (legal ones) that are so strong people get wrecked. Common joke from players about what a beast he is. Wonder if they wouldnt vote for the guy bruising em up if thats the case.
If media or whatnot just disregard

I've always really liked Adams.
Class act, unselfish, and a team player.
He seems to be the kind of guy you'd want on your team.
I'd be very happy for him if he won the Sportsmanship Award.

That’s not how it works. Players don’t receive turnovers for shot clock violations.

I always wanted Adams on the Lakers. Not to play but be a presence on the bench. The dude is a class act and always has his teammates back but in a good way, not being a fake tough guy, but actually being diplomatic on the court to the aggressor but in a forceful way.
Other than that, in terms of play, he is slow and clogs up the play, and cannot score, so I rather him just be a bench person on the lakers.

It doesn't seem this award goes to taller players....unless you're a near retirement David Robinson....

Aquaman is all about class. If you listen to his interviews he is pretty fun yet down to earth as well. Gives me the Shane Battier vibe.
He should run for NZ president.

One of my favorite players just because of his demeanor.

He always demonstrates and proves that you don't have to be an a-hole to be tough.
He plays tough, but not dirty.
Picks guys up from the floor even the opposing players.
He doesn't mouth off.
And he is very effective in the right schemes.
