Nobody wanting to hire a potential employee (in the best interest of their organizations, or otherwise) does not necessarily equate to being "blackballed", does it?

I'm legit asking, I'm not a native speaker and sometimes I don't feel like like I don't 100% grasp the term.

Nick Young was a terrible player his entire career. His career actually lasted a lot longer than it should have.

Jamal Crawford was a solid player but got 3-4 years of extra play as a terrible player because coaches liked him.
