Harrell is still eligible for 2-way?

He's a god awful locker room guy, so I am very okay with him ending up in Philly lol. Also his defense sucks.
Talented on offense though

great fit, really good value deal probably as well
In most teams he'd be a disaster but he makes the Sixers better and much more versatile imo

2 year, not 2 way.

Wouldn't really call him talented on offense. He just plays with a high motor and has a good touch around the rim. I feel like every year we see some pro-am videos of him extending his range but that has never translated to the NBA.

Is Harrell really better than Paul Reed? There is zero chance Doc plays Reed over Harrell so I view this as a downgrade for the 76ers.

edit: at this point he has become a laughing stock and very underrated
he's an offensive force and his defense isn't as bad as advertised, he's not Embiid but he's not Kanter either

Fine for the regular season when you need somebody to fill in for Embiid. Not a great option for the playoffs though, which could be problematic if Embiid is struggling with is health after the end of a long season.

Solid pickup for likely a value contract.

He´s a pretty good scorer, exactly what the sixers need from the bench. He and Melton will improve our bench 100%, so Harden and Embiid can play less and be ready for the playoffs.

Early last season when my C's played the Wizards, Harrell absolutely killed us and I wondered when the heck he turned into prime Moses Malone lol. But then later in the year when I watched Wizards and then Hornets games, all the good energy was gone and he was completely invisible out there.
He's capable but prone to becoming disgruntled and seems to have issues with motivation and professionalism, is what I'm trying to say.

He definitely is, especially for the regular season. Harrell is one of the best pick and roll big men in the league.

This point doesn't seems relevant. If Embiid is struggling with his health then it doesn't matter who the backup center is.

They are still gong to relay on an even smaller 6'5" PJ Tucker to defend Durant and Gianns in the post season.
Maybe they hope Trez can help Tucker stay healthy during the season.
Embiid really wants that MVP trophy, so he's gonna play 40+ min a night I think.

Great signing, Harrell is a great fit next to Harden, and Embiid covers for his defensive woes.

Gotta love the psychoanalysis of this move. The Sixers have added Melton, Tucker and now Harrell to a team that lacked depth. They definitely improved. Couple this with James Harden appearing to actually be in shape and watch the hell out.

I'm a big BBall Paul guy and yeah Harrell is better. Paul is pretty chaotic and inventive and really fun to watch, but the chaos cuts both ways. He's random on defense and generally doesn't know exactly what his role or game is on offense yet. I don't think either of them is an answer and I would've probably preferred to see Paul for 15-20mpg this season but I see why you'd take Harrell at that price.

That's like taking a Ferrari off roading.

When he signed with the Lakers everyone warned how he would be a good regular season player and a terrible playoff player. He ended up being a good regular season player and a terrible playoff player.
