I think that ticket Price Should be based on age/income level

Why do the rich get to control everything these days? It's complete baloney!

We should have a system or maybe day of the week where ticket prices are based on the customers age and income level. It's not right that all the time the richest person gets to watch the game in person because only he could afford that. Richie Rich shouldn't get to see 50 games a year because his great granddad invented candy bars.

Are you gonna be the one to tell Little Jimmy that he can't go to the game because his deadbeat dad spent all the family money on pot edibles and Andy Capps hot fries, and only bought tickets for the missus and himself? I wouldn't want to. Little Jimmy's ticket costs 1 dollar under the new system.

There would of course be stipulations- you have to go with your parent, groups of teenagers are dispersed immediately - but it would allow more income challenged citizens to attend basketball matches.

You should probably take an intro to economics course.

Work smarter, harder, gain new skills, increase the value you can bring to an organization. Then you can negotiate a higher salary. And then you can afford higher priced stuff (like nba tickets). No free handouts!!!! America!!!! Capitalism!!! **** yea Murica’!!!!

Ignoring the trolling - ticket prices are ridiculous and normal people can't afford good seats. OP raises a good point

if it were your business and you are the one in charge of setting the prices, you'd do the exact same thing. when you realize how much it costs to pay your players, pay the lease on the arena, pay the staff, pay for upkeep, pay for marketing, pay for insurance, pay for team travels, pay for medical team, pay for staff relating to being a corporate body that doesnt generate income (ie HR department, finance dept, etc), you'd do what you can to maximize your revenue too..

Not your finest work but I enjoyed it.

But before all that..

Covering games on TV should be based on talent and competence.

Plenty of normal people afford good seats. If you make at least 100k, you should be able to buy a few lower bowl tickets per year, or even a partial plan/half a season depending on location.

Supply and demand. Lower the ticket prices, and the scalpers will make the money.

And I am sure you would want your employer to apply the same strategy, and accordingly adjust your salary.

yeah... teams are gonna sell their tickets for the highest price they can while maximizing attendance.

to be fair i know there are psychology/psychiatry professionals (in ontario) that have sliding scales based on income, though i suspect that is subsidized by the government. i have a hard time seeing the government subsidizing things like basketball game tickets.

Sooooooooo... we have to turn in our tax return to buy a ticket now? W2?
