Does this mean that a player who hasn’t been in the league for 5 years (e.g. Morant) is just given an average for the years he has played?

RealGM users are a hell of a lot better at this than ESPN.

Median appears to be a better way of ranking that Mean over an X year period

He's been given a 40 for the years he hasn't played. The reason I did it this way was to measure it from the standpoint of who have been the top players in the league over the past 5 years. If I were to compare individual player arcs, then I would just give them a null score for years they weren't in the league. I may try measuring that as well...

LeBron might not even be top 20 this season. Morant and Trae could replace him. Chris Paul also probably not top 20.

Agreed, it’s crazy how people have him borderline top 5 when he led his team to barely 30 wins while being a terrible defender and leader. A lot of empty stats last season when the game was down by 20+ in the first half.

If the Lakers were down by 20 in the first half, was LeBron supposed to give up because of how putrid everyone was playing?

I dont get how he put up empty stats.

He put up 29.5/9.1/5.6 in Losses and 31.3/7.0/7.0 in Wins.

Keep in mind the Lakers [With LeBron on the court] were +/- -9.8 Points/100 when they lost. You may be thinking Holy Smokes, but Luka was -14.9 and Giannis -10.5, meaning on average, the Lakers [in their losses] played better with James than the Bucks and Mavericks did with their best players on the floor.
