Eh, groups are rarely interesting. A few games will be cool to see, but the real fun starts later.

Latvia at full strength is actually really good. Canada should be lock to advance, cause it seems like they have had all of their NBA guys apart from Murray and Wiggins on board, though a friend of my who works for canada basketball told me that Murray was still around the team at times during his rehab process.
Group E is also interesting as one of AUS, GER and FIN will go home early. Australia's core is kind of washed now, but guys like Giddey, Daniels, Exum and Green will surely help keep them competitive.

32 is way too much, this is not football, there are not 32 teams worthy of a world cup. Look at Slovenia group, laughable.

Τhe way they're going there will be a time when superstars will skip this AND 2/3 of the regular season before showing up at the playoffs (where half of them will get injured LOL)

Yes, almost every group has 2 obvious favorites and it would be shocking if they dont advance, but anything happens in these type of tournaments.

Yes. They did, won their group, and qualified.
With this roster:
Charlie Brown Jr., Chris Chiozza, Will Davis II, Michael Frazier II, Langston Galloway, Rodney Hood, DaQuan Jeffries, Alize Johnson, Jake Layman, Henry Sims, David Stockton and Craig Sword.
If there's any proof that this is by far the 2nd tier tournament when it comes to international basketball, this is it.

Now they have FIBA window system, same as FIFA, therefore they used all these players, this is the same with all the nations whose top guys are in the NBA or Euroleague. WIndow team will have nothing to do with actual tournament.

Top 5 USA players at each position (not counting the ones that won FIBA World Cup already). Plus 5 backup list. I will rate job that Grant Hill did after USA roster for 2023 FIBA World Cup is released.
PG: Lillard, Trae Young, Morant, Fox, Brunson
The next 5: LaMelo Ball, Garland, Haliburton, Cunningham, Jrue Holiday
SG: Booker, Mitchell, Brown, Edwards, LaVine
The next 5: Beal, Bane, Simmons, Dejounte Murray, Jalen Green
SF: James, Leonard, Butler, Tatum, Ingram
The next 5: Mikal Bridges, Michael Porter Jr., Scottie Barnes, Keldon Johnson, Paul George
PF: Zion Williamson, JJJ, Randle, Mobley, Jalen Williams

None really, USA just need to build a real team and have players that make sense in international game. Last world cup finalists were lead by Ricky Rubio and Facundo Campazzo as their number 1 guys.

USA need talent because they are not familiar with playing with each other.
A lot of successful NTs have continuity, but not all, its overused excuse for US, thinking they are the only ones with the problem, which they aren't, a lot of top teams go through shifts every summer, stars especially miss World cups and they grasp for new players all the time, this is not an exclusive USA NT problem.
You need find players who work really well, that is why I always been open to even bringing some Euroleague stars to camp, and if they really cant compete at the end, just cut them. Look at what happened to olympic team, they brought all these NBA scorers and it was emberassing watching them bait and flop for fouls and get none of it on FIBA court. These stars build under NBA rules were kind of the problem, role players would have looked better, at least at first, yes, at the end, they did adapt and sheer talent beat France in close effort, but it wasnt looking good. Lack of NBA stars was never A US problem.

Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star Anthony Edwards, Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Austin Reaves and Milwaukee Bucks forward Bobby Portis have committed to play for Team USA, league sources told The Athletic.
Already better roster than in 2019. I rate Edwards higher than Mitchell and Tatum at that time. I have Edwards as top 5 USA SG. Good job by Grant Hill so far.

Man, I thought Austin Reaves commited to Germany, or did I figure that wrong or did he just change his mind when he figured he can make team USA now?
