Luka just had his fourth 50 point game of the season (2022-2023)

The Mavs are 4-0 in those 4 games. They are 5-0 all-time when Luka scores 50+ in a game.

Luka just said in his postgame interview that a Pistons assistant coach was chirping at him from the bench tonight. That could have fired up Luka more. Dallas beat Detroit 111-105.

There's definitely truth in the "watered down" aspect of things. Still, even with that, Luka's at the top of the heap in 50-point games.
Also, Dallas plays at a super slow pace (because of Luka). He's not getting a bunch of extra looks, or easy transition looks (because he's slow). Most of what he does comes from grinding in the halfcourt.

You could see the exasperation when they doubled him late and they found a wide open Reggie Bullock because you just knew it was going to be a brick. Kept trying to pass the ball but he ended up having to take a tough contested jumper himself to put the Pistons away after they cut it to 2.
With no Wood they really are pretty short on offensive options though

Luka is not a guy I would want to spend a lot of time talking to.
He can get rattled, at least in the past (lose focus), but he also has the ability to make you pay if you fire him up.
I'm interested to learn who the coach was.

2) Wilt 1963 - 30 games
3) Kobe 2007 - 10 games
4-6) Wilt 1964, Wilt 1965, Harden 2019 - 9 games

Worth pointing out that Dirk never had four 50 point games in a season. Neither did Lebron, KD or Curry. Luka is the MJ/Kobe of this generation.

What? Bullock been shooting great lately. Something between 50-60% from 3, cant remember the timespan or exact %, but were mentioned. If it was thj on the other hand...Dont know whats going on there, can barely hit FTs anymore

This. It's a 13-38 Detroit team trying to tank. Mavs were at home. Luka just came back after missing games. Does he really need to play 36 minutes, take 24 shots and 18 FTs?

This season is a good test of Doncic's maximum scoring ability, because he has the license to shoot whenever he wants and the highest scoring era in NBA history.
If Doncic can't average more than Jordan's 37.1ppg or Kobe's 35.4ppg, he's clearly a notch or two below them, because Jordan would average 40-50ppg in today's NBA according to those whom played or coached in the 90s.

The Pistons assistant coach Luka got into it with is Jerome Allen. Based on the highlights, it seems as though Allen calls (or helps call) defensive coverages for Detroit. He was animated during the game and probably wasn't thrilled Luka hit his team for 53.
Here's a video of them getting into it at the end of the game. Luka seems to ask someone on the Detroit side "Are you crying?", which he also did when he got into it with Mo Wagner in the past.
Jerome Allen is wearing a gray Nike long sleeve shirt and has black glasses.
