Durant has to be available now, right?

Post#1 » by 10DayContract » Sun Feb 5, 2023 8:23 pm

So who's putting the package together now?

GS? Miami? Phoenix? A dark horse team?

Probably in off-season, before draft.

If they're done making moves and plan to compete with this then his camp better demand a trade.

I agree. They better be looking to trade for a guy who can actually help Durant score. Otherwise, they're looking at another first round sweep IMO. They have nice role players and much better depth now, but they only have one scoring option.

Pg: Dinwiddie / Mills
Sg: Simmons / Curry
Sf: Durant / Thomas / Harris
Pf: DFS / O'Neal / Warren
Cc: Claxton /

If you collapse on Durant, who's really hurting you when it counts? Dinwiddie is the only option, and he's just sorta meh...

They're probably working on a trade for another star. This is their only chance to compete for a ring for the forseeable future

If they were in a win-now mode, I think they should have just kept Kyrie until the end of this season and let him leave for free.

Brooklyn owns his soul. He is obligated to play basketball for the next 2 years.

They have no reason to trade him at the moment with his injury.

Dinwiddie/Mills
Harris/Curry
DFS/O'Neale/Warren
Durant/O'Neale/Warren
Claxton/Simmons

They are a decent BACKUP big man away from being a very well-rounded team. I think Simmons are the back up Center could be something they look at. Either way a lineup that has Simmons/ONeale/Curry/Mills on the court as the reserves cater exactly to what Ben Simmons is good at.

I have liked the Nets chances to win it all, and believe it or not, their chances to win it all just went up.

Maybe durant should initiate to compete without a few other superstars this time?

He really doesn’t. Nets still have him under contract and he doesn’t have much leverage.

Everyone will be watching tho, but Nets definitely don’t need to rush anything or trade him before the deadline.

He's at the tail-end of his career and doesn't need to be surrounded by Dinwiddie and Simmons

Nets have a better roster now than when KD almost eliminated the Bucks (Harden played but only shot .306 field and 10.8 ppg).
And Kyrie only played half that series, whereas now we have Dinwiddie for every game.
So we can still make the NBA Finals.

why would a star want to come to Nets? it is a horrible organization that had 3 legit superstars at one time and nothing to show for it; and 2 of those superstars have left now; the 3rd one should be thinking about getting out too

They have the ammo to make a move now if they want to add someone

Doesn't do much good to trade for him at this point seeing he's injured and his performance isn't guaranteed in the playoffs depending on the severity of the injury this time.

The Suns could make a splash seeing Ishbia isn't afraid to spend of so is the rumour, but I don't see it happening now. If it happens at all, it'll be in the off-season.

I was actually thinking OKC makes a lot of sense. They have a million draft picks and young players. Shai + Durant would be a great 1-2 punch.

Deep post season runs come down to star power and the Nets just lost 50% of theirs. The fact that the Mavs were willing to part with their 2 best role players + future first for a Kyrie rental should signal this won't make the Nets better.

I'm thinking this is part 1 of 2 of the Nets trade deadline plan because if this is all they came up with then Durant will demand out.

I think they will ride out this season....but ultimately it's up to KD, if he wants to finish this season with the Nets or if he demands a trade asap.

100%. Anyone who thinks otherwise isn't paying attention.
