Absolutely wild to me what this era has come to now. People with their phones out like drones. Feels very dystopian, like Black Mirror. And it’s not like people will ever even go back to videos time and time again. They will just post it on their Instagrams just saying “oh hey, I was there!”

I guess that’s just me though.

We were heading to people recording horizontally, until Tik-Tok arrived. Now everyone prefers vertical again.

One image was captured 16 years after the iPhone was invented, and the other was captured one year before the iPhone was invented. Technology evolves and impacts society.

This is akin to a guy on horseback lamenting about being on a highway full of cars.

I'm 43, so I guess I'm the old man who yells at clouds now, even though I really don't try to be, but I'm flabbergasted by how many people pay to go to a concert or sporting event, then just watch the whole things through their phones. So strangers can look at it on Snapchat for five seconds than forget about it forever. Just watch it on TV?

I don't really see the issue here? They're all watching, rapt with attention, AND they're recording it for posterity.

If folks, in the 60s, 70s, 80s, etc had small digital cameras, they'd be doing the same. The difference here isn't human nature, it's access to technology.

I was at the Bucks game 6 to clinch the title.

Could not believe how many fans watched most of the game, especially the final few minutes through their phones. It's weird....enjoy the moment. Everything is stuck in my brain and any images I want to see are better left to the professional camera men/women catching every second from multiple angles.

At most I take one picture before the game of the players on the field/court, one picture of my son and I, and one picture at the end. The rest of the time my phone is turned off and in my pocket.

Tickets were crazy expensive. I think courtside seats were like 100,000

I can't stand it. I was in Philly when LeBron passed Kobe. When it was known he was a basket away, it seemed everyone in my section had their phone ready. Just enjoy the moment. It's not like it's not recorded in 4k and available EVERYWHERE.

Well OP, the old guy next to Bronny and Bryce is someone notable, I forgot who they said it was.
