Probably pushed them over the edge of not keeping Dlo.

Any time you can move on from DLo it's a good thing. Kudos to MIN for doing that.

Makes sense why they traded him. The Lakers undoubtedly got better this deadline.

Bemoaning any teammate isn't a good look in general. It's one thing to call someone out here and there, but this sounds like it was more than that.
On the devil's advocate side of things, considering Gobert has shown no inkling to try and improve his offensive game at all, I can see why teammates have soured on playing with him over the years.
All in all, sounds like a split was long overdue.

For sure and I'm sure it's hard to adjust to playing with Gobert. But not the way to go about things at all.

Probably angry Gobert’s clogging the paint. Some players don’t value defensive play, Gobert with his struggles offensively and in a down year is still infinitely more valuable to a playoff team than Russell, that attitude won’t fly with the Lakers.

D-Lo isn't going to succeed back in LA. His ego will be his undoing.

Thank god Wolves beat writers didn't release this news before the trade...would have made the situation awkward and tanked DLo's value

Except Russell doesn't drive.

Let's not get it twisted here... Anthony Edwards had issues with the man too. Only difference here is that one is really good while the other isn't that guy lol.

Also one is more of a leader than the other.
Having issues is fine. Openly complaining about him is another.

Young free agent to be player unhappy to be asked to work with 40M one dimensional player. If Gobert was making 20M, dont' think this trade would have happened.

D'Angelo Russell was basically playing for the Grizzlies in last years playoffs. I'm not wowed by the Lakers getting him. Low IQ player with no defense.

I don't see nothing wrong with complaining about a guy that is getting paid 40 million dollars at 30 years old and he is still terrible at one side of the ball. Taking up driving angles. Calling for the ball like he's Shaq. Pouting when he doesn't get the ball when every knows he can't freaking catch.
On top of that, the Wolves didn't need Gobert.
I would be mad, they loved Pat Bev and now they got freaking Rudy Gobert lol.
Most NBA players can't stand an offensively inept guy.
Yeah, I am going to be loud and about a guy like Gobert wrecking my freaking offense.

Yeah, it's hard to take someone seriously as a critic when they've made the playoffs twice and they've been the worst starter on either team in 100% of the playoff series they've played in.

Gobert always seemed like a whiny punk to me, not the first time he hasn't gotten along with teammates. Russel is immature himself so no suprise one had to go.

To be honest, this is the loser mentality and lack of leadership that has plagued Dlo his entire career.
