The dunk contest looks pretty disappointing, imo.

Also, the Skills Challenge could have been better. Why not get guys like Embiid and Jokic to do it? Does anyone care about all the Antetokounmpo brothers?

3pt Contest looks fine.

What is the night life actually like in Salt Lake city? I imagine it might be a bit of a culture shock for the type of All-Star parties NBA players have become accustomed to.

The Dunk Contest lineup is a travesty.

Really disappointed Sharpe dropped out of the dunk contest. He was the only reason I was going to watch it. This is absolutely the worst contestant lineup I've ever seen. And wtf is this team nonsense in the skills challenge?

All Star weekend just ain't what it used to be. Three point contest looks like it'll be the most entertaining event which is depressing

People have a misconception of Utah. It’s great night life. They have a little different liquor rules like you have to order food with a drink but that’s it.

The people are beyond friendly and accommodating.

I won’t allow SLC to be slandered

3p has been the best part for a while now. They should close the show with that. Times have changed

Isaiah Joe, the league leader in 3 point percentage, got snubbed from the 3 point contest

The only guy I know in the dunk contest is Martin, and only because his father was a better player than him.

It’s not far from Vegas, less than 90 mins plane ride. If you happen to be at the airport in Vegas on Wednesday or Thursday night, you’ll see many of the female guests that are being flown into Utah for the All Star game by nba players and their friends. On the other hand, this coming weekend will be a very slow in Vegas for certain types of adult nightlife interests and activities.

Karl Malone is judging the dunk contest. If I were him, I'd be scared **** to make public appearances. You have to imagine at some point his past is going to back to light and he'll be completely canceled.

I'm surprised how relatively teflon he's managed to be throughout the decades.

You would think as progressive as Adam Silver claims to be…he would say “hey not a great idea” but I assume he’s brushing this under the rug and being a hypocrite like normal

I don't know why Mac McClung is even on this list to be honest.

He has good dunks for someone his size but nothing special in the NBA, super weak roster but lets see if someone surprises us.

What I can't understand is how they chose the 3pt contestants. You'd think they would choose more participants that are the league leaders in 3pt percentage...

Salt Lake is a mid-size city in the mountains. You need to bring your own entourage and make your own plans, but if you do that the city can normally accommodate you. It just doesn't have a banging club scene, music scene or high-end places to just hang out. People tend to come here for a few days to chill and then move on. There might be good parties at the hotels--like Le Meridien downtown, St. Regis in Park City or big private houses, but those are going to be private.

Came in to post this. It's not like it's a star-studded line up either. He should absolutely be in it.

No television work for Karl Malone. I believe he has been blacklisted.
