Losing to flag football. The NBA really is a garbage product these days

It will decline further next year after this latest performance. Bank on it.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

The game was bad. The pre-game, especially the “chatty” team captain picks, was downright maddening.

Ya unless they change the format to World vs USA where some would assume there could be nationality pride on the line. Other than that, most will assume these babies won't try hard enough to care to watch.

Why did they have it at 9pm EST. Have it in the afternoon out west, who cares if they’re hungover. What the difference. Have it at an afternoon NFL time, 4pm EST.

Re: Sunday’s NBA All-Star Game was the lowest rated and least-watched edition of the game
SIlver has tried to commercialize it so damn much that it feels phony, choreographed, and like a money grab spectacle. Combine that with the fact that the dunk contest - which was once the highlight of the weekend - now features mostly bums and the hype that could be built between Saturday and Sunday night is gone. Then you get to the corn ball idea of having guys stand up on a stage and LeBron and east star pick players... it was bad and long. Then you finally get to the game and it's trash. Don't name it after Kobe if the guys want to treat it like a glorified layup line. I mean, watching dude jack up 3's isnt exactly exciting basketball as much as a circus act.
Oh and no offense to small markets but stop having it in small markets.

This is another sign that Silver destroys the NBA big time and no the mid season tournament will not improve the product

Makes complete sense, would you rather watch a bunch of guys chucking threes with no defense or watch the Last of Us? or literally anything else?

Game was buns.
I think more stars being available or on the team would have made things at least a bit better in terms of viewership.
No Steph, KD, AD, Kawhi, Harden, Zion, Butler. Giannis didn't play, Lebron played 1 half.

It can be solved...
... if the NBA just paid the players more.

Who gives a damn where the game is actually held. Like are there people actually who will go "oh boy, the All Star game is in LA, I gotta watch it now! I didn't watch it when it was in Cleveland or Salt Lake, but I can't wait to see those three seconds exterior shots of downtown LA and the Hollywood sign!"

I say we get rid of the owners, coaches, and staff. Give the players 100% of the money and responsibility. They can manage it among themselves and let us know what specific dates and times they will feel like actually giving af and trying.

I don't think it would have mattered who else was out there - if they were still going to just stand around and not actually play basketball. Watching KD, Steph, AD... standing around is no more fun than watching the guys who were actually out there...just standing around.
Something else needs to be done, because as long as there is a chance that players think they might get hurt nowadays, we really can't expect much from these games anymore.
