You can make the case that LeBron is the reason why the NBA went to crap during his era.

From player empowerment, to constantly holding a team hostage and making them compromise their assets for his own happiness, getting fans kicked out of games, always making everything about himself, constantly bringing in politics with the NBA, speaking out on things that are none of his business and without facts (reference: China comments) and just his overall condescending presence with how the league now treats star players with load management and players calling shots.

The NBA needs more Giannis types and less LeBron types. What say yawl?

Player empowerment isn't going anywhere. Lebron has made the NBA more popular than ever, player movement also bring lots of attention to the league. He's entitled to his opinion just like anyone else just like you're stating your opinion.

I never had a problem with him speaking out, I applaud that, but I was annoyed with him caving in and not standing behind his own words once pressure was applied. Lebron is a Le brand. Hopefully the super friends concept he helped usher in will leave with his departure.

The bigger issue is teams tanking like the one in San Antonio. Having said that I hope the Pistons get Wembenyama.

The Player Talent pool in the NBA is as deep as its ever been. Sadly you can argue "player empowerment" and "watering down" of the game has made the NBA a frustrating product instead.
