What year would you say that Lebron James passed Duncan on your All-Time list?

He didn't. Lebron is just more popular so people ignore Duncan.

Sometime during the Heatles. Don't care if he didn't have the number of chips as Duncan had at the time, he already showed us all that he was twice the player Duncan was. Peak Lebron was Godly and on another level.

All we need now is someone in particular coming in and saying LBJ is worse cause he lost with HCA and we have a trio of cluelessness.

I’ve asked this for awhile and I know its not popular and also cause he’s not popular enough casually but why is not Duncan not regarded as the best player post-Jordan? Doesnt he probably have the best Finals W-L percentage behind Jordan? Doesnt he have more MVPs then Shaq and Kobe? I believe out of him Shaq/Kobe/Lebron his 2nd sidekicks were not as good as the others. With all respect due to Ginobili/Parker who were great they werent Kobe,Wade,Gasol, or AD. I still stand by that if Duncan had the success he had in NY/LA/Chi/Phi or Boston the conversation in the media would probably be between him/MJ/KAJ. And the bottom line is this every fanbase in the league would take Duncan over all those players because he won without any off-court or on-court drama and all the baggage that came with those other guys. Imagine having stars who are winning multiple championships and still not happy.

Lol i have James over Duncan alltime but saying James is twice the player of Duncan is ridiculous. Several all time greats have had peaks on par with or greater than James. You guys make some outlandish claims on here lol geezz

You are downplaying the greatness of Ginobili, didn't mention DRob, Pop is also a significant factor and the Spurs org as a whole.

There is a reason that the Spurs had sustained success even when Duncan became a role player

Literally because he's a quiet, "boring" dude that played in one of the smallest markets in the NBA. If he played in NY/LA his entire career he'd universally be seen as a top 3 player ever. Also because people severely underrate his impact on the defensive end while overrating offense

It’s also because his coach gets too much of the credit.

Explain how James was better alltime than Duncan in 2012? We know you adore James but dont discredit an alltime great like Duncan. Any answer before 2016 is absurd.

One thing is for sure, Duncan is the GOAT and much better than LeBron ever when it comes to leadership, leading by example, building a winning culture, etc.

LeBron has traded away so many of his teammates... including guys like KCP who was the third best player on that 2020 championship run... just to bring in another big name like Russ... He destroyed the Lakers locker room in that first season with essentially all the team in trade rumors for AD.

I actually think Duncan is the most underrated player and he's someone who really has a resume to be above someone like Magic.
