Who is in your final 4? This has the potential to be an epic tournament

I just came here to add this after I couldn't get it to take off in the NCAA section.

I brought pics, was going to use them in a new thread, but seeing as you beat me here, by a lot, feel free to use them to update the OP with a Day 1 Recap or just link to the post.

BRIEF DAY 1 RECAP (March 16, 2023)

"March Madness has begun! On the tournament's opening day, only four out of 32 teams lost to lower-seeded foes but two of them were big: No. 2 seed Arizona and No. 4 seed Virginia both went down, busting millions of brackets."

DAY 2 - Recap
Spoiler:
hippesthippo wrote:Day 2 Recap
The big story is obviously Purdue falling to a team nobody has ever heard of. They had zero answers for Furman's Fairleigh Dickinson's speed. I'm lazy, so here's the best recap I could find if you need some catching up to do.

No. 5 San Diego State 75, No. 13 Furman 52
No. 4 Tennessee vs. No. 5 Duke | 2:40 p.m. | CBS

EDIT: Purdue lost to Fairleigh Dickinson in a 1-16 matchup. Virginia lost to Furman in a 4-13 matchup the day prior. Sorry for any confusion.

DAY 3

A few big stories to follow still. No. 8 Arkansas beat No. 1 seed Kansas. Tennessee crushed the poor Dukies. No. 15 Princeton continues its Cinderella run into the Sweet 16 after beating No. 7 Missouri. Meanwhile, No. 1 Houston , Number 1 Alabama, and No. 4 Texas all took care of business.

I am not a nationalist or patriotic in most fields, I actually think those are bad traits contrary to popular belief. But that said, in sports I do support most athletes from my country. I dont have favorite NCAA team, so I will just support the team with best Lithuanian guy this year, so it is Arizona for me this run, will Ąžuolas Tubelis get drafted?

Feel free to update your emoji. You have made a wise choice.

Maybe a second rounder…I’m honestly not sure. Amazing college player though. Arizona plays tomorrow @ 1:10pm Pacific time vs Princeton.

Which team is better?

P.S. What makes Tubelis non NBA prospect, can you give me a report on him? WHat is main difference between him and Domantas Sabonis for example. I am not saying Tubelis is NBA prospect, rather that I really wasnt high on Domantas, but he turned out to be great, what are main differences why Domantas was top 10 and Tubelis will be 50s or undrafted?

I don’t really watching Sabonis so I’m not sure about him. Tubelis is a below the rim player and a poor rebounder. He is a very good passer and has some of the best hands I’ve ever seen. He is an elite finisher and can good ball handler for his size. He will obviously be a defensive liability but I don’t think he will be that awful…hard to say really.

Virginia might be the most unpredictable team when it comes to the tournament each year.

The Maryland/West Virginia game went from really bad in the first part of the first half (like with 10 minutes played or so Maryland literally had 4 points) to pretty good in the 2nd half.

Yup. When you play at a slow of a pace as they do, usually there just aren’t enough possessions for them to ever really open up big enough leads on anyone.

That play style is good when it comes to you rarely ever see UVA being blown out, but ya the negative side is they never blow people out with leads the door open for upsets.

What a choke job by Virginia. Horrible, horrible pass. But great clutch shot by the Furman guy.

One of the most experienced players in college making one of the dumbest decisions in recent memory, I mean he had a timeout available, but just decides to chuck it up in the middle of the court. Crazy ending.

Just wild. Total head-scratcher. He’s a 4 year starter and typically a heady PG. To throw that pass there was beyond dumb. He had to have thought there was only a couple seconds remaining or something. Idk. Feel bad for the kid though. 4-year career coming to an end like that is rough.
