I’ve been telling people for years that this is what the nba does when refs are bad and nobody noticed. They need to have more communication with the fans. Pay them more, but make them available to the media for questions, or the referee board itself

But it seems the nba does something about it but keeps it quiet , unlike nfl which keeps trotting out the terrible refs

He's being forced to ref only Raptors games now.

Maybe his punishment is over he's crew chief for Hawks at TWolves tonight

Its a clear blow to NBA integrity that their hand was forced to take action. Now when fans criticize refs, maybe people can stop saying oh you're just whining. Here, you got solid evidence there is case for criticism. What else goes on behind the scenes?

maybe he is crew chief tonight in a classic NBA "nothing to see here" response to the Haberstroh post.

Posters clown on FVV a lot but it's clear he's widely respected throughout the NBA. I thought it was very notable that he only received a 30k fine for that rant. Someone else might've been suspended. There was probably more than just smoke there.

I dunno. 5 out of 8 technicals called this season on VanVleet where done by that one ref. That's a very lopsided proportion considering those 5 come from a pretty limited amount of games where Taylor was the ref.

It's apparent you don't watch Raptor ball at all. Van Vleet is furthest from whiner. The man is dead serious and focused on the court. If he's complaining, then that ref job was total s*it.

Keep in mind that's the same poster that's brings up Embiid everytime someone mentions Ben Simmons. So not sure he watches much of any team at all.

What? This is a GREAT look.

Never before have refs been accountable for ANYTHING. They hold WAY too much power and most are factually corrupt as hell. Especially now with gambling being more prominent than ever.

More heads in the refs circle need to roll too. Scott Foster and the ilk need to get their asses fired.

Sounds like that fine was well worth it. Big W for FVV. Big L for Ben & the league.

At least 1.5 for the best. Nba refs are miles better than other pro leagues and college refs. You can’t get them to agree to the public accountability without the money, they have a union. Nba refs are close to as important as lead assistant coaches, there’s assistants making a million a year

Maybe they don't want it to be so public.

Do they have an official referee grievance method for teams and players that isn't ranting to the media or randomly messaging some league higher up?
