You would think that recreational marijuana use is pretty common in the NBA but then again these guys are athletes who might care about damaging their lungs therefore impacting their play. I am pretty sure in the offseason more players are smoking frequently but during the season I am not sure. Does Adam Silver still test for weed?

The new CBA ended testing for marijuana, but they stopped testing players for it a few years ago anyway.
Many smoke daily, some even before games.
Obviously, it depends on the individual.

Probably the same amount as anyone else? Maybe a bit less since smoke inhalation can be bad long-term for an athlete.

So based on nothing im going to assume the best players in the world dont smoke before games...and the guys who do are your role players that dgaf...

Do they test with any regularity I doubt it. Also, if you’re a supreme athlete a couple joints or blunts a week isn’t going to slow you down. I’d be shocked if there were any players smoking like a pack of cigs a day or something though.

Or some people are adults with careers and families and don’t want to squander it because they feel like getting high all the time.

I've smoked weed, I've played basketball but never at the same time. Those here who have is there any arguable performance benefit to playing slightly buzzed perhaps?

nba players started doing long form interviews (see podcasts) yrs ago. i haven't watched that many, but out of few ive seen, i was surprised how many smoked weed regularly (either themselves or saying that most players do). its probably the highest grade sativa because indica would make them tired af after a while

Probably about the same as most of us, for the average player.

Roughly 18 years ago on the GB I created a topic claiming that Tracy McGrady is high while he plays. At the time people didn't like the claim. Years ago he came out and admitted he was high often while he played.
