18 days of Lillard wanting a trade, and little movement has been made working towards a conclusion of this.

Will a new thread be opened if this one reaches a 100 pages or is the conversation dead?

Folks on here be doing more work to figure out a deal than the GMs are.

Feels like Riley has made his lowball offer and is waiting on the court of public opinion to force the Blazers hand into accepting bad contracts for Lillard and Cronin has countered by asking for Miami's best offer and that is the extent of communication between them.

Has the Heat ante up and sweeten the deal package yet?
If not.
Hurry up.... time is ticking!

I legitimately think the only reason why Cronin hasn't done the deal is for optics. Otherwise this opens up a pandora's box for other stars to do the same thing.

Now we're entering the dog days of the offseason, so it wouldn't shock me if this doesn't happen until August/September.
Bickerstaff: who's up for kickball?!!

Hopefully there are discussions among other teams attempting to get involved and make it happen but RGM is definitely putting in the hours to get this deal done! :D

Miami's offer is trash, Portland has no compelling reason to accept it. They'd be better off sitting on their hands and waiting for Dame to extend his list or Miami getting sense of urgency.

I'm not really sure why other teams would be scrambling to get involved. Tyler Herro isn't quite a booby prize like Kyle Kuzma but he's not some big get either.

If it reaches 100 pages, then I guess the conversation isn't dead? This is the only intersting left for the off-season.

This’ll be fascinating, because Dame might be the first superstar to not get traded where he wants to. I mean usually, the players at his level, superstars, get exactly what they want. NBA history recently is littered with such examples.

Portland might actually just send him to get the best offer back, and I can’t really blame them for it. Dame though, I mean he’s 33, his contract is gargantuan stretching years, and his group have made it clear they ONLY want Miami, I’m not sure he has much pull here. I also can’t blame him for not wanting to be on a rebuilding team at this stage, if that’s the case he will have to expand the list of destinations, but then again the teams that are contenders are already set, so he might get sent to a situation where it’s similar to PDX, a lateral move at best. We’ll see.

Don't forget Kawhi. Sent off to Toronto (Won a championship there) instead of LA.
Although he did end up in LA later on. Clippers. Where he wanted.

Kawhi is special case cause of the animosity between SA and LA, Pop made the right call getting the best deal and sending Kawhi to the East. Klaw also had only a year left on his deal, but Dame is locked in for half a decade.

Its like teams are pre-writing Woj's hit pieces for him and just pay him off to regurgitate it on ESPN

The commissioner is so very conspicuously silent about this.

True.
We didn't mind sending him to the Clips, though. Def not Lakers.
But, needed to keep him out of the West and got better deal from Toronto.

I know he's not the big get, but there's an opportunity to get another team to upgrade

I hope to see him rotting on the bench while the 3 S’s are bringing great energy to the franchise.
