Similar game and similar body type. Who would you build around?

Healthy T-Mac would be a better “#1” guy as a superstar (I’m not sure we ever got to see a healthy prime T-Mac since his back injuries started when he was way too young)
PG could be a better fit as a support star for another superstar (like a prime Kawhi), kinda like Klay was for curry

Tmac because he averaged 29.5 points, 6.9 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 1.4 steals, 1.1 blocks in 35 playoff games from 2001-2008

It depends, if this clash will take place in the First Round of Playoffs then it's Paul George for me without a doubt.

Prime healthy t-Mac with some of those nice pacer teams PG had, I don’t doubt he’d have pretty good success with them also and first round wouldn’t be an issue. You know, your team around you does matter ..

TMac was a "superstar" who played for 15 seasons and made the Playoffs 8 times in 5 different teams. The only time he advanced in the First Round was when the Spurs signed him in 2013 as washed player and he played a grand total of 31 minutes in 6 games the entire postseason. At some point, maybe it's on him as the franchise player why his team never made it out of the Opening Round of the Playoffs.

Or Tmac just played in a really tough era and ran into the especially tough teams whom any superstar would lose to....
And depends if you have a good enough #2 or supporting cast when compared to the opposition.

Think new fans don't realize how bad those Magic teams were outside of McGrady. Man put up 32/7/6 in the post season from 2000 - 2005 and people think its his fault his team lost lol

When Klay was injured the Warriors didn't make the playoffs its OK but T-Mac played with a perennially injured Grant Hill and still had his team in playoff contention and its all McGrady's fault he didn't go further.

tmac had loser mindset for his entire career. Never took his training seriously enough, thats why he was so banged up. never committed defensively again after grant hill went out. TMAC is a better anyone with two brain cells knows that, Ill take pg for the humility, willingness to do the dirty work, and off ball ability.
Regardless im going to need a better player and leader, so id rather have the guy who can play the supporting role better.
I can put any superstar ever beside pg with no issue, i cannot say the same for mcgrady.

easily t-mac. way better player offensively and does not dissapear in the playoffs.
t-mac without health issues potentially is a top 10 all time player. he had that talent. PG does not come close
thats generally one of the big differences from the 90s and early 2000s to todays players.. i dont remember stars dissapearing in the playoffs as much but they didnt take care of their bodies and treated their careersa a lot less professional.

T-Mac for me as well.
One thing i'd like to mention is that we were robbed of prime PG as well. He has lost a lot of athleticism after his injury. His elevation from before and after is like night and day. Had he not gotten injured and continued on that trajectory this could've been a whole different story.

The Tmac slander has to stop.
Dude didn't even make the top 75.
As a talent there aren't 20 players in history better than Tmac.
Paul George is a poor man's Tmac

This question is disrespectful to T Mac, in his prime he was just flat out a tier above PG-13

I think T-Mac had more potential and injuries to both him an teammates that derailed his career, however PG had some injuries as well but bounced back better in my opinion
T-Mac better, but PG more success? tough call

Seriously, we need more team players like PG.
Not enough guys these days are willing to bang their teammate’s spouses.

Prime healthy T-Mac was legit eye-to-eye with prime Kobe. The scary thing was while Kobe always have this edge over everybody in terms of fundamentals and mental aspect, T-Mac was as lethal almost effortlessly.
I always thought T-Mac is as talented as KD offensively, but KD is on another level because he can do what T-Mac does on a 7-foot frame.
If this matchup is real, people would be talking about how well is PG able to guard and slow down T-Mac.
