He always killed the Raptors so I fully believe this will look like a steal as he finally gets consistent playing time this year.

Congrats Pritchard! It's nice to see C's ownership has no problem paying guys despite the big tax bill coming up.
PP will have a bigger role this season and several players on the team have said he looks amazing and has stood out in practice so far. Excited to see him continue to grow.

College players take note. You can make $80M career earnings by just being a backup. Know your role.

I feel like he would actually be getting paid more if it was last summer. The new CBA isnt as kind to non rookie contract bench players. This is why he was asking for a trade last season because if he could establish a role or start for a bad team he would make more. I hope now with his contract out of the way he can nust play ball.

That's why I say know your role. Not realistic for everyone to be a starter. Plus, his sub par defense isn’t suited for it.

Bargain.
Per his numbers in the first preseason game.
Could he win the MVP is probably the question we should all be asking ourselves now.

People don’t realise how talented he really is. There is a reason the Celtics have refused to trade him - even when he requested a trade. His height means he’s a target on defense but he’s a very talented scorer.
He’ll actually play a role this season and I’m glad people will finally get the chance to see him.

I'd pay him too, nice microwave scoring and energy off the bench is needed in any team

His confidence was shot last year with the rotation. Give the man 12 min a night - every night - and he will erupt

Do you just mean cuz it makes the MLE a little smaller, and the 2nd apron makes the MLE a less enticing option for more expensive teams?

Good for him. I think Boston is doing it for future tradable salary though. Smaller and mid sized contracts are more important to potentially stack up, especially in this new CBA.

This is a good point, kids used to want to be nba stars, now your get ridiculous money for being a 5.6 ppg 13mpg backup. I think Pritchard may have some upside and/or is solid from what I've seen of him, but I'm a raps fan lol. I guess he's played well vs us.

Maybe, but 4 years a pretty long deal to be thinking trade chip. The Celtics are also short on depth--guard situation isn't as bad as the front court but still gets pretty rough after White and Pritchard. They need the body as much as the contract.
