I always thought that the "good enough to be a starter but accepted to be a 6th man" discussion was totally off.
The guy was an All NBA level creator who was such a team player that accepted coming off the bench

Most creative offensive player I've had the privilege to watch.
Dude was a basketball savant.

One of those guys who always seemed to get a ridiculous amount of praise when played well and zero criticism when he was nowhere to be found.

Because he was rarely nowhere to be found.

When it mattered the guy was up there with the very best.

He played way too out of control once he got older after the run but that doesn’t change what he did during it.

Which was never. He was always engaged and "to be found" even when he was playing poorly. One of the wildest and most creative players of all time.

I'm not sure I ever saw a game where Manu was nowhere to be found unless he was hurt. Manu is the KING of finding ways to help his team no matter what.

I'm a bit surprised given this series is about offense, that we heard so much about defense. But it's good point, Manu didn't rest on defense.

I was always on the other side of rooting for Manu, but I always respected him. He even has a common meta move named after him, it doesn't get better than that in terms of having an impact on the game.

Weird question, but is anyone familiar with the hip stretch they briefly show him doing around the 3:49 mark? Looks pretty simple but I would to look up info on how to do it properly because I think it could be useful for me lol.

yeh he really let the team down in the 2011 playoffs when he couldn't perform to his usual level with a broken arm.

I know you're being sarcastic but he actually had a great series, Pop trusted the team to win game 1 without him, Manu wanted to play..

Tony Parker cost the spurs that series, got smoked by Devin Harris and on offense:

Manu .640TS 90Fga
Duncan .615TS 144Fga
Parker .478TS 128Fga

In that 4Q-
Manu 12 pts, 1blk, 2pf 1 TO (4/7 including 2/3 from the arc)
Parker 1reb, 1pf (0/1)

Well pop more than tony cost the spurs that series but my point remains

What the hell are you even talking about? This man got slaughtered for his performances in the 2013 Finals. The foul on Dirk still puts manier Spurs fan onto a dark path. Manu had to be to talk him off the ledge. But sure, he was free from criticism.

Looks like a hip rotation. Have seen it in other sports as well.

Why would an adult share thoughts on a singular play when their entire image is about "thinking"?

Kinda overrated. Tbh. He was a really good player. But people are going overboard. Not close to a superstar or tier 1 player
