Rank these three guys by who was the best during their peak/prime years.

All three are on a pretty similar level but go about their games in uniquely different ways.

Reggie - off-ball movement motor, free throw generation
Manu - on-ball skill and creativity
Ray - A mix of the two

Needs a poll, but 1) Ray Allen, 2) Reggie Miller, 3) Manu Ginobili.

Ray Allen played until he was 38. Had several 20ppg+ seasons. Was the lead player on several teams. 2 championships (feel free to asterisk). 10 all-star appearances.

Reggie Miller is by far the greatest Pacer. And actually had more points than Ray Allen over his career. But 5 all-star games versus 10. No championships - which I hate is a thing, but we all know it is. And as great of a shooter as he was, Ray Allen topped him in 3 point contest appearances. And shocking to me, Ray Allen was the only one of the two players to actually win. Shattered my childhood.

Ginobli didn't enter the league until he was 25. I'm sure he was impressive in EuroLeague, but it's not really comparable. He never averaged 20ppg for a season. He played with greats in Duncan and Parker. Only made 2 all-star games. Probably the best Argentinian player to play in the NBA, but not the career of Allen or Miller.

What's impressive about this comparison is what iron men all three were. All played well into their late 30s. Most players are out of the league after their rookie contracts.

Allen
Manu
Miller

Reggie Miller one of the most overrated players in the HOF imo. He was a lesser version of Klay Thompson. Not sure why people think he was a superstar. He ran around picks and shot 3s.

Manu definitely on peak. I forget where I have them career-wise. My speadsheet is at home and I'm out of town. I love this comparison, though. They're in the same range.

Allen
Miller
Ginobli

Ginobli had the advantage of playing with Duncan
Miller was the best player on some great Pacer teams
I like all 3 players but i think Allen is the best player

Anyways the answer is Manu, Reggie, and then Allen as a distant third. Absolutely crazy to me how people are picking Allen first, he's worse than Reggie in every way.

Ray's all around game was massively underrated due to his shooting. His Seattle years especially were fantastic.

Allen could dribble. All Miller did was run off screens.

Miller is the one trick pony of this group.

This. I watched him destroy the Kings one year in the playoffs by himself. Just brutal and unstoppable. Smooth.

At their peak Allen is the best number one. Manu at his prime is easily the best number two on a championship team. So it depends on what you are looking for.

Reggie, with respect, isn’t the first option Ray was and he is not the supporting number two Manu was. He was fun and Bird had those teams at their max capacity but he could not overtake the smoothness of Ray or the chaos creation of Manu as a number two.

Yeah that was an interesting take.

I wouldn't call Reggie a one-trick pony but he was definitely the least dynamic of the group.

Listen just take it back now and spare me from having to post my Reggie Miller apologia. It will take me a long time and you'll end up looking terribly foolish so just go ahead and avoid the pain

Bro Reggie Miller is like the 3rd best player in your franchise history. Both Paul George and Jermaine Oneal were more valuable than Reggie Miller.

Miller is one of the most overrated HOF players imo.

Manu is my favorite player of all time. So no problem ranking him 2nd.

But maybe we disrespecting Reggie a little?
He took MJ Scottie Dennis and the 2nd 3peat bulls to game 7 as the lone star for the Pacers. The only team to almost knock them off.

If he wasn't a superstar, then MJ Scottie and Dennis almost got beat by some scrub?

The roleplayers and depth of those late 90s Pacers teams are hugely underrated.
