Every athlete has off days, and sometimes it takes time for a player to truly gel with a new team.

I think the contract is fine, it's only a small percentage of the cap for a backup PG level player, who is a good defender.

I think Gabe will be fine.

He was a bit overrated thanks to an unreasonably hot period against Boston in the playoffs. (34% from three for the playoffs not including Boston seriers) 50% in the boston series.

He gets his spot figured out and starts making his threes at 36-38% and he will be a nice piece

He doesn't suck. His abilities are simply optimized when he's in the Heat system.

Lakers made the mistake of thinking LeBron/AD are still a championship duo. They are not you need another star because at 39 LeBron is just not the same player he was in his prime.

Get Kyrie at the trade deadline then I will take the Lakers seriously as a contender.

Lol but according to so many in the offseason the Heat lost Denver version AI and prime Klay Thompson (struss) though.
Gabe is what he always was, a streaky undersized guard that routinely gets targeted on defense.

They can't even trade LeBron, although it's not like anyone would want to give up value for him at this point anyway. I don't think they are thinking that "LeBron/AD are still a championship" duo. I havent watched the game, I was watching Wemby, but I'm wondering, what's the point of playing a guy like Gabe Vincent for 32 mins when he only takes 3 shots. He's not a great defender, not a great playmaker, his main attribute is scoring, so what is he doing out here for 32mins if he's not taking shots.

He showed he can make big baskets in very important games. Come playoff time theyll need that

Vincent the two years prior to this was a 9/2/3 player in 25 mpg shooting 41/35.

In the playoffs he was a 13/1/4 player in 31 mpg shooting 40/38.

So he should be expected to be a streaky shooter and scorer who is generally inefficient but is able to have big moments off a teams bench.

If one expected him to consistently be the player from the Milwaukee or Boston series, they are missing the whole streaky part.

Focusing on the scoring and shooting only since that's what is most thought of in regards to him.

Vs Milwaukee: 13.0 ppg, 42/42, 53.9 TS%
Vs New York: 10.3 ppg, 32/27, 44.3 TS%
Vs Boston: 15.8 ppg, 49/52, 65.0 TS%
Vs Denver: 11.4 ppg, 38/33, 49.4 TS%

There was nothing that suggested he was a consistently efficient player, but it's just easier to remember the highs and sweep away the low.

Paying him more money won't magically make him consistent. He'll be hot for a stretch soon enough. It might start next game, it might be later. Then he will likely have some other cold and hot streaks, that should have been expected.

3 games into the season

I mean his career numbers aren't great.

Strus on the other hand is the real deal but Vincent shouldn’t even play more than 15 minutes per game.

Max Christie is better, and I expect him to get some minutes soon.
