Ok so Alperen came back to take out Jalen Duren in the other poll so now let's go with this matchup of outstanding 21yr old Centers coinciding with the Rockets vs Thunder game tonite.

Chet Holmgren has the higher potential ceiling but due to injury risk i went with Sengun

Both are great player but defense is just more important for centers. I would go with Chet who looks like a game changer defensive player with a pretty solid offensive game (considering this is his rookie year).

The gap on defense is larger than the game on offense (considering the stage in their careers, Sengun is in his third season).

Chet. As good as Sengun is offensively, the C spot is just too important to team defense to not take Chet here I think.

Chet because I think he is the more malleable player who is already ridiculously efficient as a rookie who has a healthy repertoire of jumpers in his shot selection. I think you can slot him on virtually every team in the league currently and he would find a way to be effective in any given role.

Chet just has so much more potential with his type of game and physical tools that it’s not really a fair comparison.

I think the Chet injury concerns are a little overplayed. He's had one, possible fluke, injury so far. I'm not so concerned about him.

i like sengun a lot but chet possesses a two-way potential that he cannot match.

Better at what? Definitely not defense. And offensively it’s a toss up at worst. All Sengun is better at is posting up/ball handling imo

Unsurprisingly Chet running away with this one even faster at a 10 to 1 rate similar to Duren (but 2-1) in the beginning of the other poll.

Could we see a repeat where Sengun comes back to take the lead?

I for one cannot wait to see this game and matchup. And I'm a Magic fan lol

i really like both players. i was torn between banchero or chet as #1 in their draft and really liked sengun since summer league his rookie year. i was really impressed sengun and his bball IQ, it was like he was 3 steps ahead of everyone else (jokic-like). but if you told me that he'd be averaging over 20 a game (more than jalen green, ironically) i'd think you were crazy.

but yeah, it's really a toss up to me and would probably depend on who your other building blocks were. example: if you didn't have defenders like FVV, brooks and jabari jr. it might not be as easy to have sengun anchor a defense.

Chet is gonna win in a landslide. you just can't teach that length. he's gonna win ROY, but Sengun is slightly under 3 months younger than Chet, so he has just as much potential.

And just like when everyone here chose Duren over Sengun, they will be proved wrong.

Yes. And Sengun is the better scorer, rebounder and playmaker/passer.
