Jalen Green over Mobley and Barnes: How costly?

He is shooting lower than 40% this year and high-scoring on low efficiency seems to be valued less and less over time.
Evan Mobley seems to be on track to be a DPOY candidate for the next decade.
Scottie Barnes looks like a very good swingman that fits on every team.
Among all the talks of draft failure like James Wiseman and Cade Cunningham (esp when they lost 27 in a row) this seem to be an under-discussed topic.
How costly is the decision or do people still have hopes on him?
2021 NBA DRAFT
FIRST ROUND
1. Pistons draft Cade Cunningham
2. Rockets draft Jalen Green
3. Cavaliers draft Evan Mobley

5. Magic draft Jalen Suggs
6. Thunder draft Josh Giddey
7. Warriors draft Jonathan Kuminga
8. Magic draft Franz Wagner
9. Kings draft Davion Mitchell
10. Pelicans draft Ziaire Williams (officially traded to Grizzlies)

Mobley looks like the same player this season. He’s not living up to those Tim Duncan comparisons at all.

Rockets drafted the best player of the 2021 draft.

At this point I'd take Mobley, Barnes, Wagner, and Suggs over Green. All said players impact winning 10x over compared to J Green.

Green is a pretty forgettable player. Inefficient on offense and bad on D. Rockets would be wise to try and get any value out of him. Sengun and Smith are their future.

I'm not saying Barnes hasn't improved, but as he has improved his individual numbers, the Raptors record keeps getting worse. Let's be honest, Raps fans just want to see his numbers prove to be sustainable since they aren't winning basketball games. That's the only thing you guys have to hope for right now.
Would Rockets fans like to see Jalen Green play better? Absolutely. They are enjoying having a competitive team more though.

There is a common denominator between the Rockets being more competitive and the Raptors not winning.

Raps fans on RealGM crapped on VanVleet for an entire season. Your mods had to lock the threads, he was so hated. Now he's a common denominator. Interesting.
My feeling is, it's still too soon to say how the draft should have gone. When these guys are through their rookie contracts, we'll have more data. A lot of these guys are still only 21 years of age.

Mobley ain’t Duncan by any stretch, but how many Cavs games have you watched this season?

Mobley can never develop and he would still be a max caliber player. His skill set and size is in huge demand.
As someone else said, would pretty easily take Mobley, Barnes, Suggs, Franz over Green. Strong argument to take all those guys over Cade as well but I think I need to see him on another team before I can make that jump.

Green was an awesome prospect, no one could've really known if he would end up shooting 30% or 40% from 3 on volume once he got to the NBA, or how well he'd finish in traffic etc. Turns out he was on the lower end, happens sometimes. Not sure we need threads saying 'you made the wrong guess, you're dumb.'

Casual fans (Yes, including many realgm Raptors posters) do not adequately appreciate FVV's impact on the game. The Raptors were right not to match though.

Your logic doesn't make much sense.
We had a better record last year with Barnes having worse numbers across the board, including scoring efficiency, and a better +/- last year.
If we are going off team record and plus/minus, than last year would count as the better year for him no?
My point is that you can blame Barnes for our current record about as much as you can blame Sengun for the record the Rockets had last year.
And yes, Raptor fans pretty much want to hit the reset button and rebuild properly around Barnes already.

This. They got two top 5 talents in the draft, they just may have missed on the first. Still super early though.
