Who is more skillful?

I like SGAs 2 way game. I think he wins a title before Luka does

I'll take the guy who actually plays defense.

I don't know what 'skillful' means, but I'll take Luka for impact.

Skill-wise it's SGA

Luka processes the game so fast that's his superpower

Both of these guys are unstoppable, literally. Skillwise probably Luka with the insane passing taking him over the top.

I love SGA with the Canadian angle and all but the answer is Luka. SGA will have to prove he's better in the playoffs. I'm sure he can do it but until he does, just can't take him over Luka.

SGA because he is more of a 2 way player.

SGA still can't shoot 3s which is a major flaw in his game. Give me Luka.

SGA was a 2 way player even his rookie year with the clippers. He’s the most skilled player here without a doubt. Defense matters.

Imagine Sga on clippers right now.

Both are generational talents and franchise cornerstones, both are comfortable top 10 players, likely higher than #10, eye test says Luka, his size and skill and offense is unprecedented combined with all time level vision and passing, which exceeds SGA mid range mastery.

Dallas had talent, they just let it get away.

As for the comparison, defense is a skill. The talent on the offensive side for Luka isn’t as massive as the talent on the defensive side is for SGA. So I’ll take him.

I know SGA averaging almost 3 steals a game, but how much pg sg really impacts the defense in todays game? I take Luka for sure, he controls entire game at superstar level. I am just afraid he does it too much, and although most his teammates benefit from it, some really dont.

There is a chart on synergy called shot types where they track every different shot in the book. Jumpshot, hookshot, floater, pull up, lay up, early jumpshot, catch and shoot, guarded unguarded, etc...

Doncic is up to over 1 PpP on every shot
type...that is the definition of skillful. And absolutely insane also.

Depends on the day...last night it was SGA...putting up 40 in a win against Denver- Christmas it was Luka...

Luka shoots better from 3 but takes 10 3s a game...SGA 30 with what 3 a game ?

SGA 90% from ft and Luka mid 70s%...

SGA defense much much better - Luka 2 more points per game...

It’s preference - if you prefer a 2 way player that can lock up the other guy and give you 30 it’s SGA-

If you prefer a primary ball dominant offensive guy that has victory or defeat in his hands all game running the Show it’s Luka


It’s healthy Kawhi or baby MJ vs a baby harden - can’t go wrong either way

I've thought to myself in the past that if these two teams played a three game series, I could see Luka scoring 30, 30 and 60 and Shai scoring 40, 40 & 40. Both players have the same number of points over three games but Luka has the ability to put up historic offensive numbers on any given night. Whereas Shai is methodically carves a team up in the same way each night. Obviously I'm choosing my guy but Luka is amazing.

Again, secretly belittleing Doncic, calling him "baby-Harden" (which often likely means a lesser version of a type of player)
Harden never had that kind of shot diversity. At his peak he was: lay ups, threes and fts. he never had a midrange game, he never had a floater game.
Prime Harden and Doncic have in common that they both dominate the ball, that is it. Offensively they are very different players. That is why most have stopped doing this comparision (which only came up in Doncics 2nd season after he killed the Rockets in one game with like 3 or 4 step back 3s in a row).

Luka is more skillful but SGA's season is probably better to this point than any Luka has had so far.

The MVP should be between him and Embiid, that's how good he's been.
