He is very injured right now. And tired. Theres no way he’ll play against a the lowly Blazers and dominate when he’s severely injured, especially since the Blazers are so bad they’d win without him anyway. Right?

I'm sure he'd love to sit out Monday and cover up for how he ducked the Nuggets, but with only 6 more games until he's declared ineligible for awards consideration, he can't afford to miss any more games with fake injuries. He'll play.

He's gonna play and pad his 40-50 points against another bottom feeder. He will try his best to still get MVP. Maybe play like 20 minute games if he has to.

Consider there are several road games against tough teams to duck ahead, this is a can not miss.

Just like last year he was only injured for Denver, but he played both games around them and he’ll do the same this year. He’s gaming the system. It’s a mockery of the MVP award

He likes playing against bottom feeders. He should be available on Monday.

What's the altitude like in Portland? Could be dangerous.

Portland is all by itself in the Northwest corner of the country. They shouldn't be allowed to have a team. It's unfair that players like Embiid have to fly all the way out there and be too exhausted to play. I bet he plays on Monday despite that because he's tough.

The Blazers are a joke and an easy chance to stat pad. He also can't risk missing another game due to the 65 game rule. Joel the jellyfish will play and drop 40. A miraculous recovery.

Opponent under .500? Check
Arena below 5000 feet altitude? Check
Not a back to back? Check
Poor defensive team? Check

You better believe he’s playing

Of course he will. Dude is a joke. He ducks the top teams and then stat pads against the bottoms dwellers.

He's going to go for 40+ and will stay in for a few minutes in the fourth while the Sixers are up 30 to get that tenth board.

Ironically, the better he plays against Portland the worse it'll make him look for ducking the Denver game.

I like it. We can also go with Joellyfish for brevity. Plenty of options.

You better believe he’s playing

Missed 3 games on the road against contenders, 4 games against bums
He has missed more road games than home games.
He did get hurt twisting his knee slightly in the last contest, although played through it and performed well enough.

For you personally, would you have send him out there to make a point vs jokic if you were making the decisions knowing his medical condition, fitness and history? I can’t see how the logical conclusion can be yes

Medical held him out.

Funny how they had 5-6 other guys on the medical report pre game but not Embiid.

Strange that.
