About Miles Bridges…

I know he isn’t liked these days, but let’s be honest, dude is an All-Star level talent that’s about to get picked up by a contender for pennies on the dollar. Basketball wise, he absolutely moves the needle. Don’t let a team like the Clippers get him.

Ya in hoping he doesn't go to a contender for extremely cheap. Dudes a really good player.

He has to approve any potential trade since he's on a QO and if he does so, he loses his bird rights. He more than likely going to have to be signed and traded in the off-season, if Charlotte is going to get any value for him and if he (and Rich Paul) wants the trading team to retain his bird rights (which I'm sure they do).

So if he is traded, is only able to get a 25% raise? But if he stays with Charlotte, he can be signed for up to 25% of the cap? And still be traded?
Not sure I understand the rules behind his next contract.

If he re-ups with the Hornets, he can get up 8% raises on his contract. If he signs with another team (with capspace) or is traded, it's only 5% raises.

Allegedly the Hornets placed the asking price at "a young player plus a first".
So he isnt going anywhere and Charlotte is delusional

I see the Lakers signing him, he'd be a perfect fit with AD/Bron/Reaves

But he can sign for any amount? Or is it raises over his current salary?

Sign and trade has to be into capspace or you have to send back salary. So if for example he wanted to sign with the Lakers for 4/90, they would have to send back contracts roughly around 18-19 million just to be able to make it work. And they could only offer him 5% raises. Charlotte can re-sign him up to 30% of the cap since they have his bird rights. They wouldn't do that, but they have the option.

How do you know all that? I mean, wow, it is impressive, NBA contract rules are confusing as hell.

NBA basketball is my hobby. I have tried to quit it for years, but I can't. And Bridges doesn't meet the criteria for super maxes, which are 35% of the cap.

He is a better shooting Julius Randle who plays within the offense rather than forcing like Randle does. He can guard 3 positions. Just an absolute beast of a player

I could see a couple teams with multiple firsts (Spurs, OKC, Utah) willing to burn a first for a player as good as Bridges.
Keldon Johnson (24) and FRP (return Charlottes 24) for Bouknight/Bridges
Young SF who can play 2G or have Miller at the PF
Bridges with Wemby
Collins/THT/25 FRP for Bridges/Hayward
Collins is 26 and can play with Miller/Ball
Micic/Dieng/Pokusevski/Bertans/24 FRP for Hayward/Bridges
A couple of young PFs and an upcoming pick.
Bridges with Holmgren/SGA

Cleveland makes sense as they are desperate for a 3 and because they have Watson taking all the heat in town

Yeah it's pretty sick that Miles had to serve punishment but Giddeys victims family was oddly uncooperative so he got off scott free. Crazy world

I feel the same, so better to ask than validate I am a fool.

I thought that as well, but Cleveland only has the 24 and 30 FRPs. It would have to be at the end of the year. They could offer the 24 FRP and Okoro + on draft night.

We have no clue why the Giddy case was closed, no details were provided by police. We don’t know if the lack of cooperation from the parents was the reason why the case closed. Saying otherwise would be an assumption.
