Bro clearly had money on this game. Young Rockets team shoots nearly triple the FTs(12 vs 33) of the Knicks despite Knicks being fouled countless countless times all game. Sengun getting away with travels all game long, and push-offs. Jalen Green going out of control to the basket getting gifted 9 FTAs almost the same as the entire Knicks team of 12FTAs
And then..
the worst call this season by far, as he calls a foul on Jalen Brunson on a last second heave ONE HAND SHOT by Aaron Holiday
and Holiday did some weird shooting motion and was not normal, and his off-hand was out to the side of his body while he shot it with 1-hand, Brunson was minor contact with that off-arm which is bullsh*t. If you can negate a 3 that Divo made because he kicked his leg out, how is sticking your off-arm out in a weird way not the same thing???????
Bro HAD to have money on this game, only explanation I can think of.

defund the referees!
But seriously the NBA has a huge referee problem...
Feel like they need to shut down the league and retrain these idiots....

Is there a better angle? It's hard to tell on that clip. It doesn't look like a foul on upper body contact, but it looks like there is lower body contact. It wasn't a smart contest by Brunson, as it was an extremely tough shot.

Malloy did not make the call in your tweet.

Minor minor minor contact after the ball is already released, with the game clock expiring, you can't make that call, you just can't.

NBA also needs to change the rules that you NEED a challenge in the last 2 minutes. If a challenge is about 'getting it right' then the NBA should REALLY want to get it right when it matters even more, the last 2 minutes of the game, everyone was saying if the Knicks had a challenge it would've been overturned, it shouldn't take a challenge, every call like a game deciding one, should be reviewed every time.

I might be off base here but this looks like a foul to me. He jumps forward into the shooters space and 100% contacts his body. At worst it’s a 50/50 call.

On that clip, it does look like a foul on hip to hip contact. Whether you make that call in that situation is a different question.

First clip.. yeah def a bad call.
Second clip... yeah Brunson did foul him ( meaning he did get body to body contact )
However, it could have been a no call. Hard to decide. There def was contact and by definition a foul, but...

It's like calling pass interference on a last second hail mary...okay, you can make the call many times but it should be reserved for only the most egregious acts. Same rules apply here. The ref who called that is either a brain dead moron or taking gambling money.

Agreed, was expecting Brunson not to touch him based on OPs reaction. That seems like a tough but reasonable call at worst.

Better angles that show how truly bad the call was.

That is a clear foul.
1/ Even if you rule this -> incidental contact after the shot, it is a mid-air hip check. Unless you think it is okay to just jump into players, this is a foul every single time.
2/ The play occipies the shooter's landing zone. The shooter didn't get to land. He was literally leveled. Sticking a foot below the standing zone is already the criteria for a foul. This literally occupies the vertical space where the shooter shot the ball.
I don't think you guys realize how insane this non-foul argument is. So as long as a player challanges a shot and doesn't make contact with the shooting arm; the defender has the right to bodycheck the shooter in the air as long as the check comes after the shot has been released?

Why is this an outrage? He jumped into the shooter and hit the hip, clear foul and low IQ defense by Brunson.

It's 100% a foul Brunson jumps into him and contact is bad in the lower body waist area. You aren't even allowed to be in the area the shooter lands 100% a good call even without contact up top.

I mean if anything, he’s clearly sticking his leg out the same way divencenzo did and the refs called it an offensive foul.
There is no mid air hip check because he’s moving away from Brunson at the same time kicking his legs into Brunson
**** call for a final desperate heave shot

Kicking your leg out while shooting is an offensive foul

You can say it was a foul or not. I don't care. But in the same game, they called this a foul on Brunson. The refs are a joke.
