Jokic - pass of the season?

Post#1 » by QPR » Fri Feb 23, 2024 12:35 pm

Even by his standards, this is crazy. Pulls down the one-handed rebound by tapping it to his other hand and throws it entirely full court to a team mate flanked by two defenders, all in motion. I can't even get my head around the degree of difficulty on this one.

The play was cooler but he also had more time to throw it. The one last night he had less than a second to rebound, turn and throw the pass, and it could pretty much only go in one spot to get between Gordon, the defender and the basket. Higher degree of difficulty I think.

But really, splitting hairs.

As much as I'm impressed with the pass, I'm even more impressed with the way Gordon caught it with one hand and dunked it. Great job by both of them

Yea both were very difficult to pull off. To me the inbound was better cause I can't see anyone else pulling off anything similar, even guys like Love and prime LBJ, Wade and prime LBJ, CP3 and Blake, Kidd and K-Mart etc. weren't able to do that, despite having that combination of elite passing and leaping ability. Even team USA (dream team and redeem versions) when playing against vastly inferior teams didn't come close, despite some insane plays.

I feel as though I could watch basketball for another 20 years and not see that play replicated.
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.
