when Chris Paul retires ringless we all agree that it was entirely his fault

I feel like 90+% of these stories that come years after the fact where stars were close to joining a different team are bull****.

I don’t even know if a Paul/Wade/Bron trio wins a ring. What an uncomfortable fit

Lol I don't buy it but it pretty much encapsulate CpME, the ego on this dude. So Wade, the guy who Miami drafted, who is their franchise guy, who already got them a ring as a main guy and proven winner should sacrifice HIS number after already agreeing to sacrifice ball handling duties/fewer touches to win?
Yh I'd feel less bad about him being ringless if true (doubt it) cause that's kinda ridiculous even if it'd be a weird fit. They're 3 of the highest b-ball IQs in history and were all elite defenders in their primes, they woulda figured out imo. This isn't Westbrook for instance that has a low IQ and shaky jumper( though even he would be terrifying paired with Wade/Lebron in spurts despite poor spacing). Cp3 was a very good shooter so personally I think on pure talent alone they probably still win.
Ultimately diva Paul now gets filed into the ATG ringless Malone/Barkley section rather than being several spots higher with ring(s).

Lol he wasn't known as DW3 like CP3, so Wade should sacrificed a damn number lol because we know CP3s ego would never for a second.
But I'm glad it didn't happen. I prefer dirty shady ass CP3 without any titles for his whole career. Peak karma (that and failed lakers trade).
Yes I'm a hater when it comes to that slimey midget.

God this is such a lie. And what exactly would Miami have given up for him in this complete NBA 2K fantasy trade?

So is Paul insinuating that Bosh would have been the one traded for Paul? Bosh was a great fit. Paul wouldnt have worked as well.

I jumped for joy when Paul finally got ejected in a regular season game for punching Rajon Rondo. There was no way he could have escaped that, and everything we knew about him from then on changed forever. Now he's seen as an evil player desperately looking for the easy way out, but the championship will always elude him until he realizes that his greatest adversary and arch nemesis is himself, must admit he is a bad player who lets his personal emotions get in the way of business, and proves his apology by giving up playing completely and be a DNP-CD so that his team can win it for him.
Right now, his only hope of winning a title may be to do it as a coach. If Paul steps into that role and ultimately wins his first ring, will it vindicate his career as a player, even if he ends up becoming the next generation's Doc Rivers? A ring as a player with a severely reduced role (or having no role at all) might actually hurt his career more than saves it, for it will be seen as ring riding. He's kind of doing it right now with the Warriors, but at least there's a chance for him to go out Gary Payton style.

I am also gonna choose to take this story at full face value and take satisfaction in cp3 having remained ringless.

I don't think CP could coach, he'd erupt in flames the first time his PG did something stupid in practice.

I tend to believe that this is total BS. But this did occur at the time when Chris Paul was traded to LA and it's not hard to imagine that Riley would want to get in on that conversation. So probably not total BS. Probably just partial BS. It's a half truth that sounds interesting.

I totally agree. They might’ve still talented out a title but I don’t think they’re as good.

Good Paul would of been a horrible fit. The Heat needed a big like Bosh and already had Lebron and Wade taking turns with the ball. You can't add Paul to that mix and the nerve of him expecting Wade to sacrifice his number on top of all this is hilarious!

From purely a fit perspective this doesn't make any sense. You already telling two ball dominant guys to share the rock, and now you're throwing in a third. This is complete BS.

CP was better than Bosh but he would’ve got his stink all over LeBron and Wade.
