Can someone explain the eligibility thing? So if he doesn't find himself in an ideal draft position he can just go back to college?

His name is the only reason this is a story.

“Minor USC player enters transfer portal” wouldn’t be a headline.

Lebron is signaling that he’d like to retire a Laker. He’d like to play with his son, but that just makes me more inclined to think that if Bronny gets a shot it’ll be in LA. I don’t think Lebron is signing with whichever random team drafts Bronny.

The entering the draft/portal is a pretty common thing nowadays. Honestly it’s dumb not to do it this way. You can go through the entire draft process up until the draft essentially and make your decision.

My guess since he’s Bronny, he will be invited to the combine and all that, so why not go through this process?

Now with all that said, a player of his caliber with a different name wouldn’t be on anyone’s draft board. And I won’t be shocked if he does officially enter the draft and not take his name out.

I’m just clarifying for those that aren’t familiar with the process, entering the draft and portal at this time is pretty common even for guys that are 99% sure they’re entering the portal and won’t stay in the draft.

After season like this he should go to smaller school for bigger role.
He could go undrafted if he didnt have last name James.There is no chance for 1 round in million years
Pretty sure he can drop out like before draft.
