The finalists for the major NBA year-end awards will be announced at 6:30pm ET on TNT.

(The voting has already been done. The "finalists" announced tonight are the top 3 vote getters in each category.)

Figured I'd give everyone a heads up and make a thread where y'all can discuss the awards and finalists if you'd like. And or make predictions. Cheers.

These look pretty accurate to me based on what I've seen this year. I give the NBA credit with the 65 game rule. It definitely makes it easier to delineate who is the best "all" season.

The whole Award Finalists thing is so pointless. Most of the time we already know who's winning each award, and if we don't it's pretty much always down to two players. There's always at least one player in the Final 3 who everyone knows isn't winning.

I get they did it to generate engagement, like with most things, but I doubt it's even doing that.

If Doc started the season with Milwaukee and went 17-19 just as he has, then Griffin took over and went 31-13, just as he did, with all other circumstances remaining the same except for timing, Griffin might be the frontrunner for Coach of the Year.

Any vote that is not Wemby for ROY would be a travesty.

Chet had a case when Wemby struggled a bit early but Wemby turned things around and now its not close.

Yeah, just another example of Silver drawing things out for the sake of drawing them out to manufacture some fake interest/hype. Just like him extending the draft out to two days.

Now that I think about it SGA should be MVP.

I don't think anybody predicted the Thunder to be a top 3 team in the West. I had them as a play in team before the season. For a team that young to be the #2 seed in a tough Western conference is impressive.

SGA is my MVP.
