Will Brunson make another conference final without Luka?

Post#1 » by HotRocks34 » Thu May 23, 2024 4:04 am

Poll above.

Some people believed Brunson was the key for the 2022 Mavs WCF.

We're seeing now in the 2024 postseason that Brunson was replaceable. But is Luka replaceable for Brunson?

We'll find out the answer to that question in the future.
** Luka made The Finals without Brunson
** Embiid is the only MVP in NBA history to never make a conference final
** Philly won multiple playoff games without MVP Embiid
** LeBron missed the playoffs with Davis
** Steph missed the playoffs with Klay

It's possible sure.

I'm 50/50 if it happens though

In the east? Of course. The Knicks are good. They just need to get healthy.

Yes he will for no reason other than the fact that he's in the eastern conference, should have done it this year if not for injuries.

No chance a team with Jalen Brunson as the best player would make a conference finals appearance in the west though.

They make one this year if 8 rotation guys weren't murdered. Seems like silly timing for this post.

Odd timing on this.

Brunson is really really good. He likely makes the conference final this year if half his team isn't hurt. I mean just OG alone, but Randle, Robinson, even ultimately Brunson himself.

No need to slander him to prop up Luka because you are mad Brunson rightfully got credit for playing great 2 years ago.

Both guys can be (And are) great.

Brunson being "replaceable" with Kyrie is no great insult.

East is chit, Knicks are good and they have assets to become better. They should be looking to make the finals next year, honestly. Use their picks and Randle to upgrade the PF spot

Results matter.

The question stands. We'll see how it works out.

I love JB. But everything should be clearer now than it was before, if there was any confusion.

Tough call. Every year, teams improve, making it more difficult to get to the conference finals. Sad the Knicks were so banged up, but next year will be tougher.

He was always replaceable.

Again, I'm a huge fan as my post history shows. But the truth has to be told.

JB was key in 2022, but the piece that really put the team over the top IMO was Dinwiddie. Having the three guard setup unlocked Dallas.

Conference FInals? Probably, you never know with injuries and things like that and their seeding matters like they could run into Celtics in the first round next year etc...

Finals or Championship? I'm just not sure about him winning a championship as the best player. Even though he's pretty damn good, but very few can pull that off. Luka hasn't done it yet although he still has a chance this season.

In the east barring any drastic upgrades from a couple of teams yes he can. He Almost did it without much help. I don’t see why he wont be back there at some point.

You're a good poster, but this is a weird thread. What's clear is that it took 7 games for Indy to beat a team down 3 starters. You aren't making this post if the Knicks were healthy and the Pacers were down Siakam, Nembhard, TJ and Nesmith. It would have been a bloodbath sweep. Again, weird, weird post.

I voted "yes."

Knicks are scrappy and talented. I think they will get it done and JB will lead them.
