Who do you think is greater all time?

LeBron. Peak to peak they were close, both GOAT level peaks. Kareem used to have the longevity argument but what LeBron did in year 21 is far beyond Kareem's last couple years and of course passing his all-time scoring record. Kareem was on a much better Lakers team at his later stage though.

LeBron’s longevity is a lot more impressive, imho. Kareem scored 30 points or more once in his last three years combined (0 times in his last two years). He scored 20 points or more only twice in his final season. Played 20 years total. LeBron just averaged 26 ppg in his 21st season and scored 30+ twenty times.

You just wake up out of coma bro? It's 2024 LeBron is the all-time leading scorer. You know the guy who had the record Kareem?

LeBron>Kareem and it ain't even up for debate.

Kareem wasn't ahead of Jordan by almost anyone when he had the record for 35 years. Kareem has the better resume over Lebron overall. More rings, more MVPs, greater defender, more individual accolades. Kareem also won Finals MVP at 38 while Lebron got swept by Denver at the same age. I'm also taking Kareem's last 2 rings legacy wise in his 40s over just overall stats without any actual accomplishments besides adding to stat totals. Kareem was still the 3rd best player on his team in 1987.

I actually still have Kareem ahead of Lebron when it comes to longevity. That's because I'm counting Kareem's UCLA years. For NBA longevity it's Lebron and I expect Lebron to surpass Kareem on my list by as soon as the end of next season.

The hilarious part about this is you never saw Kareem actually play. You just looking at stats.

I can only debate the guys I saw with my own eyes. In my lifetime the GOAT has either been MJ or LeBron.

I watched Kareem when he was Alcindor at UCLA, and he's far ahead of LeBorn.

I think there's still an argument to be made for Kareem based on his durability. He turned 39 in the 86 season and was 1st team all nba. Was fmvp the year before. LeBron has put up bigger numbers since he was 35 but at the same time he's missed quite a few games and his teams haven't done much outside of one wcf. The deal breaker will be if LeBron is still a top 10-15 player next season since age 40 is where Kareem sort of dropped off quite a bit and then even more the years after.

Than I guess that means you don't have Russell or Wilt in your top 10 unless you're in your 60s or 70s where you saw their entire careers otherwise you're a hypocrite if you do. Kareem's resume is just better than Lebron's it's as simple as that even with playing 3 years of College. He also didn't need to constantly switch teams to try to win easier. He needed to join the player that already won on his own as the #1 option to win. Kareem already won in his 2nd season with an older Oscar as his 2nd option whom never won anything before Kareem was his teammate. Kareem also doesn't have the playoff blemishes Lebron does. Outside of the 73 playoffs against the Warriors tell me when Kareem played as bad in his prime as Lebron did in the 07 Finals, 08 & 10 vs Celtics, 11 Finals against the Mavericks & 14 Finals against the Spurs.

I will take your word if you are serious.

I just have 1 question.

Why is Kareem never in the MJ vs LeBron debate for GOAT if he is indeed the best to ever play the game of basketball?

I dunno but it’s definitely got nothing to do with whatever they did at 38+ years old.. irrelevant

Because he isn't the GOAT. Russell, Jordan, LeBron, Wilt (IMO) have stronger cases.
