I didn't finish watching the game until this morning, but one foul call stood out to me which I believe didn't happen until the 4th. It was when Turner fouled Tatum on a 3pt attempt. The foul was on Turner making body to body contact while both players were coming back down after the shot.
Now we've all seen this postseason the ref's look at coaches challenges and say that there was minimal contact "after" the ball was released (didn't interfere with the release of the shot) and don't deem it as a foul. Yet in last nights incident, the shot was clearly gone before Turner made body contact, foul was called and 3FTA was awarded. I'm not suggesting the outcome would have been different if nothing was called, I have no dog in this fight. For the last several years that is a foul and so has been hand contact after the shot, except for this postseason.

FYI I made new threads for the playoff series because we're trying to solve the problem of the site running really slowly and being super annoying.
There's a decent chance we'll have to move the previous thread completely off the GB and into the dreaded "restricted" forum, so if anyone wants to quote any incredibly wise posts from that thread from either yourself of someone else, probably do that soon. Sorry and thanks.

Thanks for working on the issue. I have made several wise posts and the page seems to reset before I hit submit and my wisdom is lost. I give up after two tries. I was wondering if the super long threads had something to do with it?

Yeah but however can we discuss how this team is being carried to the Finals facing injury riddled teams and players who aren’t even stars?
Appreciate the work you and the mods do Bisme all jokes aside mate hahaha

Seriously though... should we be worried about Rick Carlisle?

The last tweet confused me.
Of course the league is making plans for a trophy presentation - it’s an elimination game.
Imagine the Celtics won game 4 and the leagues like “Welp, we actually don’t have the trophies here or anything else planned”.
The guy has lost his marbles.

Ah, that's what happened. I was away from my PC for most of the day and I was very confused when I returned
Thanks for all the work, bis!

Carlisle hasn't lost his marbles at all. Yeah, it's perfectly natural for the league to make plans for a trophy presentation in an elimination game. Nothing wrong with that. But it's also perfectly natural for a coach to try to use that as motivation to fire up his team. To light a fire under their ass.
Remember, the Pacers were in great position to win games 1 and 3. We collapsed twice and, of course, the Celtics came up with a ton of clutch plays and amazing execution down the stretch (they obviously deserve major credit for that and deserve to be up 3-0). As a coach who is staring down elimination and absolutely does not want to see their team eliminated at their own home, you have to use everything you can as motivation. It doesn't even matter if it makes sense. Sports do not always make sense, after all

Yep. Our inexperience really showed in both games. We couldn't make the winning plays down the stretch. The Celtics absolutely dominated those stretches and earned their wins.

I would say the Pacers gave game 1 away. Game 3 however, the Celtics went and took that.

If this were coming from the Heat, I'd be a lot more worried.

I would definitely agree. The game 1 collapse was entirely on us. Some of our most crucial turnovers were unforced. Game 3 was about Boston's immaculate execution down the stretch. Not a lot of teams would have won that game 3 if they were in Boston's position. Not that we didn't also make mistakes in game 3, we definitely made mistakes, but Boston's execution was absolutely flawless.
